You are right, we don't have any incentive to play Kenya in ODIs, but since we are still very weak in longer version cricket and if Kenya offers to play four-day matches against the Bangladesh national cricket team, or at least the Bangladesh 'A' team (and we all know it that virtually our whole national team minus senior national players plays in the guise of our so called 'A' teams), then we might have to think it twice before rejecting the Kenyan offer.
After all, it is in the longer version cricket - in Test cricket that we need to improve on, and that is the exact reason what we're showing for not attempting to accept the Kenyan offer.
And I don't think our national cricket league will become a highly competitive league just overnight considering the last years' performance of our cricketers.

We ned to beat both Kenya and ZIm to gain any creadiablity. We can't beat any other nation going around (only defeted a questionable Australian team). Kenya have beaten us 7/8 times, they have scored 300+ against us, their players have scored 100's against us, much the same for ZIm (a weak zim team lost to us 2/3 in the ODI serise, and 1/0 inthe test).
The best Kenyan Xi and the best Zim Xi (one currently playing), would beat us and do it well.
Remember in the last WC, Kenya bambozeled Srilanka out of the park (spun their batsmen out), where as we couldn't even face the likes of hearath.
Every one is this board thinks we can beat every TEST playing nation that plays.
The only team which we can beat now is the weakest WI team(if Canderpul doesn't play).
Zim (with most of its starts back) would beat us and so would Kenya (with most of their stars back).
The only fear is if ZIm lost to kenya, which again is a real possiablity.
Both Bd and ZIm and cowards (admin), The Australians didn't say "oh we'r playing BD, lets not play".
The Bd board DO NOT pick the best players (the ones who perform in the domestic comp), so that is no excuse (the likes of asraful will still be picked even if he got 0 runs in domestic competition).
BD and ZIm (to a lesser extent need to get their heads out of the clouds and be realistic, everytime they have played 'weaker' opositions they have lost. So why can they beat them?
The reality is they them selves are the weakest crickting teams going around, regaurdless of how much they hype them selves up, neither team will beat the likes of Kenya, Scotland, Ireland, Canda enough to prove me wrong.

Bombayrocks, please reread my posts. If you still don't understand, U2U me. I will be glad to explain in details.
BD in ODI is fine. You saw some glimpses against Ind and Aus. It is the longer version of the game that we need to work on. That is why it is not necessary to play ODIs against a non-test playing nation. Even if they are strong competitor. Management can send a A team to promote Cricket in those countries.
Ajithlalm,
Bd did not ask Zim not to participate. it was their call. If you did not know, the tri series was suppose to be held in BD. For inavibility of a Cricket ground (since the domestic season is going on) Bd asked Zim to host. Zim declined. Kenya jumped on the idea wanted to host. Zim declined to send the national team to Kenya.
Bd wanted a tri series, when that was off the table, they did not wanted to send the national team just to play Kenya. End of story.
I am sure they will send an A team or something like that in the the near future to Kenya. Hope this clears up the confusion.
