Another Gola-SN thread
Ok I know we have discussed about this over and over and over again but I just want to ask people what think Management should do for the next few games.
I believe the management made a big mistake not playing golla in the england game.
Since SN played that game and we lost. so we have nothing to lose now.
So the thing is, should we let golla play and try to get the best team to win next two match or let SN continue and hope he comes back from his lien patch as we will need him dearly in coming years.
I wanted to know this before the IR game so that what ever the selection is we don't want another 20 threads on why he (who ever that is) got picked over the other...
Even though i was backing golla for the england game now i think we should invest for future and let SN continue. Which might cost us the IR game too. but I am willing to take the chance. We will have a 9 man team against IR if he plays and Bahsar will be there. hope if they can't play that well at least they don't run out some one else.
So what's u r thoughts?

My thoughts? Play Rajin. I wouldn't want SN there because I want him to work on his game and get ready for the India series. Another one or two failures here and he will probably be dropped for the India series. I want him to work hard on the nets and play some domestic cricket game if possible when he goes back to BD before facing an international side again.

I voted for 1. SN for both games no matter what. Cause the opposition is not in the top seven.

Can you tell this to Faruq...Both SN and Bashar should do this play in leagues or do something to BRING back forms...also applicable to other bats don't just give up practice after the WC is over.

How about let SN play the next game and if he fails get RAJIN in for opening position?

I know we are spinning the same old wheel again and again: but what does this mean?

sorry mate, first part of the statement is opposite of the second. so, replacing the 'so' with, 'yet' would make more sense to me.

RAJIN is not an opener and he will not play as an opener so drop that.
Also rubu saying the same thing won't make it true. Golla played and we won that's the truth.

Miraz bhai,
this may happen cause I read some where DW was inclining that way against England even. We know the Barbados pitch now. We know our opponents. Hopefully management will stick to the plans they create in video rooms.

Rajin opened several times, has better average and strike rate than golla AT OPENING. why is he not an opener?
He is a good bowler and is a better fielder than golla. Only thing where golla tops rajin and hence gets the place is that he is hablu's friend and rajin is not.

TE bhai, although the remaining opposition is not in the top seven, I dare NOT to take anything lightly. We cant slack off anywhere against Ireland, the gameplay & commitment shud be as good as the india match....

I voted for #1.
Both choices are unlikely to have any effect on match result, and there's no alternative options in your poll.

Rajin opened against weaker teams and also was one or two time can u bring his record as an openers against bigger teams? and when did you see him bowling in ODIs? i know he bowled 2/3 over in test but i can't remember when was the last time he bowled in ODI?
Anyway I don't know whether u have any proof that golla is playing as he is bashar's friend. if you do give us that or else please making and spreading rumors.
Thanks

I think Rajin is a backup for middle order batsman, golla backup for openers and shadat backup for the fast bowlers and tapash/reza all pace rounder backup for the spinning all rounder.
Now if none of the opener had played bad i can guarantee that golla wouldn't have had any chance like rajin, shadat to play any games... but unfortunately he got the chance...
and if it wasn't a 20/20 tapash wouldn't have got his chance either.

This option should be there in the list. I agree to this for the Barbados pitch.

Option 1 makes sense out of the rest. We are looking towards the future, and there's no looking back. Why take two steps forward and then take one backward ?

We have to play for present as well as future. 2 match practices to SN may not build a huge future for him, but two wins can matter a lot for the future of the BD team/Cricket.
Lets be practical & let JO play the next game. If he doesn't do well, SN is there, but if he does good, let him play the next as well.

Rajin is mentally prepared to open the innings. In his last few outings in the national team he opened the innings. Nowadays he opens in the domestic ODIs, too.
Here's comparison of the best efforts of JO and Rajin. Both innings were played without any pressure and for losing cause.
Rajin
Golla

As many of us belives SN is minnow basher, why don't give him a chance against another minnow. If he succeed, he will be in the team against WI also, if not he more likely to become another Nafis (Iqbal)!
