‘৭০ রানের পর সেঞ্চুরির কথা ভেবেছিলাম’

আবুল হাসানের পরিচয়, তিনি মূলত মিডিয়াম-ফাস্ট বোলার। দলের প্রয়োজনে ব্যাটও করেন। তবে আজকের আগ পর্যন্ত ব্যাট হাতে সাফল্য তেমন ছিল না। এত দিন প্রথম শ্রেণীর ক্রিকেটে তাঁর সর্বোচ্চ সংগ্রহ ছিল ৬১ রান। কে ভেবেছিল, এই আবুল হাসানই অভিষেক টেস্টে রেকর্ড গড়ে সেঞ্চুরি হাঁকানোর কীর্তি গড়বেন?

অন্যরা তো ভাবেনইনি, আবুল হাসান নিজেও ভাবেননি। এমনকি ওয়েস্ট ইন্ডিজের বিপক্ষে খুলনা টেস্টে হাফ সেঞ্চুরি করার পরও নাকি সেঞ্চুরির ব্যাপারটা মাথায় আসেনি তাঁর! দিনের খেলার শেষে অনুষ্ঠিত সংবাদ সম্মেলনে অকপটে তা স্বীকারও করেছেন আবুল হাসান।
‘আমার প্রথম লক্ষ্য ছিল রিয়াদ ভাইকে (মাহমুদউল্লাহ) সহায়তা করা। ৭০ রান অতিক্রম করার পরই কেবল সেঞ্চুরির কথা ভেবেছিলাম আমি।’ সংবাদ সম্মেলনে বলেছেন আবুল হাসান।

ফাস্ট বোলার শাহাদাত হোসেনের জায়গায় এই টেস্টে দলে সুযোগ পেয়েছেন আবুল হাসান। তবে ব্যাট করতে নামার সময় নিজেকে নাকি বোলার হিসেবে মনেই হয়নি তাঁর, ‘যখন আমি ব্যাট করতে নামি, নিজেকে একজন ব্যাটসম্যান হিসেবেই ভেবেছিলাম আমি। শেষ পর্যন্ত সেটাই হয়েছে।’

আবুল হাসানের সেঞ্চুরিটা যেনতেন কোনো সেঞ্চুরি নয়। এই সেঞ্চুরির মাধ্যমে তিনি উঠে গেছেন ইতিহাসের পাতায়। অভিষেকে ১০ নম্বরে ব্যাট করে সেঞ্চুরি হাঁকানোর ঘটনা যে এর আগে কেবল একবারই ঘটেছিল! ১৯০২ সালে প্রথম ব্যাটসম্যান হিসেবে এই কীর্তি গড়েছিলেন অস্ট্রেলীয় ব্যাটসম্যান রেগি ডাফ। দীর্ঘ ১১০ বছর পর একই কীর্তির পুনরাবৃত্তি করলেন বাংলাদেশের ২০ বছর বয়সী এই তরুণ।

রেগি ডাফকেও অবশ্য ছাড়িয়ে যাওয়ার সুযোগ রয়েছে আবুল হোসেনের। এর জন্য কঠিন কিছু করারও দরকার নেই। প্রয়োজন মাত্র পাঁচটি রান। ডাফের ইনিংসটি ছিল ১০৪ রানের। অন্যদিকে আজকের খেলা শেষে ১০০ রানে অপরাজিত আছেন আবুল হাসান। ডাফকে ছাড়িয়ে যাওয়ার প্রবল সম্ভাবনাই তাই রয়েছে। সে ক্ষেত্রে টেস্ট ক্রিকেটের ১৩৫ বছরের ইতিহাসে অভিষেকে ১০ নম্বরে ব্যাট করাদের মধ্যে সর্বোচ্চ রান সংগ্রাহক হবেন আবুল হাসান।
খুলনা টেস্টের প্রথম দিন শেষে ১০৮ বলে ১০০ রান। আবুল হাসানের অবিস্মরণীয় এই ইনিংসে রয়েছে ১৩টি চার ও তিনটি ছয়ের মার। প্রতিপক্ষ ওয়েস্ট ইন্ডিজকে তো বটেই, গোটা ক্রিকেট-বিশ্বই আজ চমকে গেছে এই তরুণের ব্যাটিংয়ে।

আবুল হোসেনের সঙ্গে পাল্লা দিয়ে লড়েছেন মাহমুদউল্লাহ। দিন শেষে তিনি অপরাজিত আছেন ব্যক্তিগত ৭২ রানে। আবুল-মাহমুদউল্লাহর অবিচ্ছিন্ন ১৭২ রানের জুটিতে দুর্দান্তভাবে খেলায় ফেরে বাংলাদেশ। ৮ উইকেটে ১৯৩ রান থেকে দিনশেষে বাংলাদেশ সেই ৮ উইকেটেই ৩৬৫। এর চেয়ে বিস্ময়ের আর কী আছে!

Now, the realist in me wishes that this doesn't turn into Ashraful fiasco. Ash came into the team as a bowler and overnight became a basman after scoring debut century under similar match situation. I hope we don't force abul to transform himself into a batsman. He should focus on his bowling first to become an international quality fast bowler; anything good from batting is a bonus.

Ok, now get that double century and after that get a 5fer.

হাসান: (হাসি) তখন কী হচ্ছিল আসলে কিছু বলতে পারবো না। কিছু মনে নেই।

প্রশ্ন: সিলেট থেকে উঠে আসার পেছনে যাঁদের অবদান তাদের সম্পর্কে বলবেন?

হাসান: প্রথমত আমার আব্বু। ওনার অনেক ইচ্ছে ছিল, আমাকে আজ এ পর্যায়ে খেলতে দেখার। কিন্তু আজ আব্বু নেই। আরো অনেকেই আছে। মৌলভীবাজারের জেলা কোচ রাসেল, বিভাগীয় কোচ ইমন ভাই...তাঁরা অনেক কিছু করেছেন আমার জন্য।
