I learned how to play the flute/piccolo after listening to this. Incredibly Beautiful.

This is overused now in fan-videos but on its own, it's still epic. From one of my favorite movies, Requiem for a Dream

There are just too many to list. My fav. composers are John Williams, Howard Shore and Harry Gegson Williams. Just love anything and everything from them. Somehow these guys just know how to merge the music and visuals into such a smooth flow that they seem to have been magically woven together. They also have the ability to raise any visuals to epic proportions just by music itself!
Here are some of my favorites:

Memoirs of Geisha
John Williams with YoYo Ma and Itzhak Perlman (can it get any better?). One of my all-time favorite tracks. Never gets old.

Chronicles of Narnia,
LWW and Prince Caspian
Harry Gregson Williams
Here is another of my fav. The final battle score, about 7 minutes long. If you haven't seen the movie, then it might be difficult to judge how great this score this. You can view the visuals here. Also love several other tracks from both first two movies.

Another one from LWW. Very simple, soft and purely magical!

Star Wars
John Williams
Nothing to say about this one, John Williams at his best. There are just too many good tracks in the SW universe, posting only one as sample. This is another of the iconic tracks that everyone recognizes!

The Matrix
+sequels
Don Davis
Although I haven't heard much of Don's other compositions, his Matrix composition is nothing short of sheer genius. Instrumentation in this composition is truly unique and at the same time completely fitting for a movie like Matrix. I love most of the tracks, but Trinity Infinity is probably the most iconic of all. Also love the Navras track

Lord of the Rings (All 3)
Howard Shore
Every single track is a masterful composition. I have probably listened to these tracks hundreds of times, and still find them enchanting and mesmerizing. Just posting one sample here, too many to post. Also, can't wait for the Hobbit to release. The soundtrack would be epic, that’s guaranteed; just listen to the music track within the released trailer. Brilliant!

Prince Of Persia
Harry Gregson Williams
Love the middle-eastern flavor in this composition. Music itself trasports you to a different time and place.

There are so many more.... thanks for opening this thread

Another notable composer is Thomas Newman. I love his sound track of 'American Beauty'
