Channel I will broadcast BD VS NZ SERIES
Yes! good news guys btv and channel i will bradcast the series between bd vs nz.......read below
BTV, Channel i to show matches Sports Reporter State-run Bangladesh Television (BTV) and Channel i will provide live telecast of the two-match Test and three-match one-day series between Bangladesh and visiting New Zealand. The series will begin with the first one-dayer on Thursday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur. The second one-day (October 11) and the second Test (Oct 25-29) will be also held at the same venue. The teams will go to Chittagong to play the third and final one-dayer on October 14 and the first Test, which will be start from October 17 at the Chittagong Divisional Stadium. "BTV has the terrestrial right while Channel i has the satellite rights to provide the worldwide telecast," informed Ahmed Sajjadul Alam, media committee chairman of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), yesterday. In terms of the commercial aspect, the series will be a huge loss for the board as there has been a big gap between expenditures and income. As the series is out of the Future Tour Programme of the ICC, Nimbus, which holds the marketing rights of the BCB up to March 2012, has no contractual commitment to broadcast it. On its own channel, Neo Sports, Nimbus will telecast live the India-Australia series as it coincides with the Bangladesh-New Zealand series. BCB has to pay around Tk 5.25 crore as production cost to Nimbus but are getting little from Channel i. It was learnt that the local satellite channel has earned the right by paying around $40,000.00. "You have to consider a series in two different aspects. One is the commercial aspect and other is the cricketing. You can't expect profit from all the series. We will definitely benefited in cricketing aspect because there would be a huge gap for our players if we didn't have this series," explained Sajjadul Alam.

hey guys, i have some serious questions:
so what is nimbus doing now? they are not showing the matches, why does bcb have to pay them? nimbus have the rights to all bd games? how much did nimbus pay bcb in order to get that right and 1. did we(bcb) get the money? how much? 2. for how long, until when does nimbus have the rights over BD games brodcasting? 3. i want to know how that money is being used?

bujhee kom, the series is outside FTP and nimbus has no binding to show the series. BCB has to pay nimbus for the production. They could have avoided nimbus, but in that case the production would have been low quality.
Nimbus holds the TV right until 2012 and they have paid a decent amount of money to BCB to earn that right. It is more than 5 crore per series, but only for the series which are part of FTP.

ok this is great news.. but will it be shown in uae as well.. i just hope so.. i'm not getting my hopes up yet.. bcoz if they really are showing it.. they should have some kind of advertisements and stuff.. but i haven't seen any sort of ads concerning this series in channel i...
btw when was this confirmed?
