Default What is your expectation from BD in the world cup?

My expectation is to win more than 3 games, since 2007 this is where we are stuck at

2007-3wins(Ind, Sa, Bermuda)

2011-3wins(Ireland, Netherland, England)

2015-3 wins(Afghanistan, Scotland, England)

2019- 3 Wins(SA, WI, Afghanistan)

Lets Make it 4 this time- Afg, SL(most likely will qualify), WI(most likely will qualify) and One of either Eng/SA/NZ, I dont think we can beat Pak, Ind, Aus

If we win 5 and have good NRR, we can make it to Semi.

Seeing as its our Big 4 last tournament, I sincerely hope they make a good showing of it, especially Tamim and Rahim who always happen to disappear during WCs.

Its unlikely they will win it, but hope they do go far and make it a memorable one before signing off

Organizations in South East Asian countries always lot to be desired. It's only few months away and no news on venue date or tickets or how to get them if ppl wanna wanna travel.

England was so much more organized with literary system for tickets many months prior ...

Anyways given it's ODI format anything less than qualifying for last 4 would be disappointing for me. Thiasis our best format. We should reach final.

Tamim and Mushfik both started their WC career with a bang in that match VS india in 2007. I surely hope they finish with not just one match but a couple of bangers

Tamim disappears in WCs. But Rahim was almost as good as Shakib last time. He averaged over 50, and hit a hundred against Australia.

Even Shakib was non-existant with the bat in 2011 and 2015. Just batted out of his skin in 2019 (should have been the Player of Series, IMO).

If our Big 3 can click, I would like us to qualify for the semis. This is actually a very achievable goal because we now have a world class bowling lineup (world class seamers, world class spinners).

But for this Tamim has to show up. Rahim has to show up. Shanto has to have the mentality he had at T20 world cup when he top scored. I have faith in Towhid. I have faith in Shakib too - because we only really need him to show up 3 times out of 9.

Bowlers need to be fit and not choke.

Bottom line, this team is so good, not making the semi-finals will be a disappointment not just to the fans, but to the team themselves.

Once you get to the semis, you just need 2 good days.

As it has been our tradition over the years...

Expectation: Win the World Cup
Reality: Hope not get bundled under 40 against India in the opening match

The form current Tamim is in atm, expect nothing more from him during this WC either. I hope to be proven wrong (please Tamim).

The way teams fought in CWC Qualifier, this prolly will be the first WC without any minnow team. Even three wins this WC may be hard to come by.

Like others mentioned, can't expect much from Tamim's captaincy if he chokes as a batter again. If we want a fighting chance for the semi, Shakib has to be the captain. Generally it's a bad idea to change the captain so close to WC. But Shakib is already our captain in the other two formats, players naturally look up to him.

I will not be surprised if Papon/Hathuru use the current fitness fiasco to take away captaincy away from Tamim. If that happens, I hope Tamim will take the decision gracefully.

Scrape into the semi finals finishing 4th with the help of a few other team's results going our way.

Fans will get super hyped up for the Semis. Then we'll proceed to get absolutely obliterated by India losing by 120+ runs or 10 wickets without even putting up a fight from the very first ball.

On a side note, I think Netherlands and Scotland should be in line for the next round of ICC full memberships. They have consistently been performing at the top level despite being associate members.

Although Nepal is a more lucrative market with lots of fans of the sport being the most popular sport in the country despite them not performing as well as Netherlands or Scotland

The team is going through a transition period and my hopes are not very optimistic.

Opening batsman only play well against weaker teams. The fielding is sub par. Bowlers der kotha aar nai bollam.

So many freebies and extras. No control over the ball. This must be the worst bowling line up going into the World Cup

When these guys are afraid to bat first against Afghanistan you know Bangadesh have ZERO chance. They will be lucky to beat Scotland from looks of things.
