here is a help:
we have Dhaka Premier League (DPL). Dhaka based 12 clubs participate in that league. Most of the country's top player play here. the sason starts with a T20 leauge followed by a 50 Over one day tournament. This is the most popular tournament for last 30 years or so! Big foreign players like Wasim Akram, Jayasuriya, Afridi and many more played in past. Few major team names would be - Abahani Limited, Mohameddan Sporting Club, Biman Bangladesh.

National Cricket League (NCL) is mainly for 4 - day first class match.
Six Divisional Team play here - again most of the country's top player play here.

The recent funky team names tournament was the NCL T20 league - Six divisional team played in that league.

Then there is PCL T20 (for last 2 season)- mainly a chittagong based clubs tournament - players are same!

no. DPL was the main and popular but now the NCL is the main because....

NCL FC tournament gets FC status
NCL ODI (not held this year ) gets List A status
NCL t20 gets t20 status.

the dhaka based DPL odi or t20 dont get list a or t20 status.
