I think being excluded from the team has helped Kayes.

He seems to have worked on his overall game and even seems a bit fitter. He seems focused. Needs to keep going

He's clearly the 2nd best opener we have after Tamim. What I don't understand is why he hasn't been a regular for Tamim in the main forms. That's one of the main reasons Tamim has struggled at times because he generally has different partners. Kayes has improved, but it remains to be seen whether he can replicate such form away from home.
