Shuvogato Hom! I feel like he can be a good test player with ~40 average based on the consistency we have seen. He should only get better now that he has access to world class coaches and facilities.

Though Tamim is the logical sequence, but still feel that this kind of innings would come from none other than Mohammad Ashraful, who still holds the record of the highest run by a Bangladeshi batsman in an innings.
It takes an extra ordinary performance and not many in our team are capable of doing that. We have players who can perform "very well" and "great", but double century ??? That's one hell of a lifetime achievement.

Well, I know people are saying Imrul and such, but Shafiul's maiden Test match 50 came before Imrul's did

Yeah I know, each and every player (maybe even Rok) has the potential. When they are in form, they are capable of big scores. With time, and maturity, they will get better and not throw starts away, and in Tamim's case, not throw away centuries and not go on to make a BIG score.

@ Shafi,
Shafiul Islam Alhamdulillah has very good potential to be a deadly allrounder, like our version of Irfan Pathan, the problem is, so far it is only potential and potential has zero value when it is not put to use.

I was joking about the double hundred, but yeah, he has good hitting potential. Not to the extent of Yusuf Pathan, but he has ability undoubtedly. He need to learn to play of the back foot, and Inshallah, he should do well. He's used his potential twice in my opinion, once against England in 2010 test, and another.. .Well, everyone knows.

If i am not mistaken, Tapash Baisya used to be a very handy lower order bat too....wonder what happened to him??? Last time i seen him was at World cup 2007 after that injury against Australia, he has been MIA(no he didn't go to Miami, he is Missing In Action)

Tapash... Used to live near my Bari in Bangladesh... Still does I thinks.
Yep, he was a very capable Batsmen when the team was in trouble with 2 test 50's, but his bowling was quite poor, averages around 60 per wicket in tests.
And lol, I know what MIA is!

in the near future it will be either Tamim (as he scores quickly) or nobody...
Because in order to score a double hundred one batter must face a minimum of 300 deliveries which means 50 overs... so that means the rest of the team needs to play at least 80 odd overs to provide him company at the crease. That equates to 130+ overs of batting.
We never last that long in Test cricket.

It is possible for openers or 1/2 down batsmen.

Isn't Nazimuddin the only Bangladeshi to score 2 double centuries?
