Having watched the first 10 overs of Scotland innings and the last 10 overs or so of NZ innings I'm quite impressed with them. They lost 4 quick wickets at the top but all of those were unplayable deliveries. Those accurately bowled mighty fast inswinging good length balls would've beaten the best batsmen in the world. Scotland were just too unlucky to get so many of those upfront. Having lost their best batsmen early I was surprised they got to 140+. In other matches their top order will definitely do much better. While bowling they never give up, bowl accurately and have now taken NZ's 7th wicket. They even have a good spinner in Majid Haq. They'll be a much bigger challenge than Afg for sure.

UAE's batsmen are better than Afghanistan. This UAE has beaten Bangladesh U-23 team few months ago comfortably.

They are about the same. AFG bowling is why they are #2 in the associate world.

Nice total UAE ! Now bowl them out and send a message to ICC.

A team of journeyman possibly upsetting a full member .. that's why I keep coming back to this sport.

UAE team has one 43 year old Arab. One ex-pat born in UAE. Others are from 1 Srilanka (played for SL U-19), 2 Indians, rest Pakistanis.

UAE is the real deal. Their batting seems 5x better than overhyped Afghans imho.

Afghans batting is just too inconsistent but they do have the best bowling unit of the associates, and the keeper looked decent which is more than I can say for the Irish keeper who has played county yet made multiple easy mistakes against WI. UAE has a mix, not the best batsmen, not the best bowlers but a solid combination of both.

True, this isn't ispiring at all...

Even if they had players from other Arab countries, like they have in football, would be more acceptable. Can't watch these Pak, Ind, Srilankans playing in the name of UAE... Shouldn't be allowed...these guys haven't even received local nationality...icc is giving them some undue advantages...I think UAE did some fav to ICC in return...icC head office is also in UAE

This non Arabs playing for UAE culture is not new. It's been going on for ages. I remember even when we used to play in ICC tournament back in 94, we were defeated by UAE because they had a team full of foreign players.

we should give citizenship to Kohli and have him play for us

Most of the people living in UAE aren't citizens, the population is mainly made up of expats so it's not surprising the cricket team has the same sort of make up.

Thanks dude.

I can't see the arabs getting into cricket. Soccer is big over there, and that's what most arabs play and follow.

UAE put up a solid fight. Same as the Aghans, I think they will get better with experience.
