Loss of West Indies to England made this game even more interesting...
Every game except Netherlands were high blood pressure game.
I hope we win tomorrow...
I heard Jafurullah sharafat's car was smashed after the England game...
and he said he wasn't angry at all...
The South African batting lineup is almost as strong as the Indian Batting lineup... the difference between them and teams like NZ or Eng is that they look to destroy the weaker opposition from ball one...
In my view we have to get the following things right to win this one:
1. Pitch: Should not be a batsman's paradise because if that happens SA will score 300... game over
2. Tamim needs to stay at the wicket during Steyn and Morkel's initial spell... with fluke master Junaid and a rusty Nafees to follow we could to 2-3 down very easily... so we need to see off those two..going at 3.5-4.5 runs per over will be okay
3. Shafiul needs to pick up a wicket early... preferably Amla
4. Shakib and Razzak must control the SA batting powerplay... so far SA are the best in executing PP
5. Mushfiq must not drop catches...the top six batters are very strong we will pay the price if we drop catches
6. We must be mentally prepared to chase down 300 plus total

Forget about beating them...if we even lost to them by 40 runs or held them off till the 42nd over or sth, we'd still be going through most probably. But with such a bad match against them..that's what really stuffed us up. Our runrate was counted as 1.18 for that match, and that had a HUGE impact, even for other teams in the group.
THIS is the biggest game for the players in their short international careers. This game will decide whether we can really call ourselves one of the 'big boys' . Play like there is no tomorrow, dive around, save singles, save boundaries, take catches, make half chances and take them as well. Play with you heart, fight like your life depends on it.
Go tigers.

I think its time Siddons did that speech to the players. It'll be the most effective if him the ultimate realist did an inspirational speech on the morning of the South Africa game..

Based on my observation, in recent times, Tigers play like that everyday but it is our batting that let us down!
