I haven't had a deshi style duck curry in a year
It's not something that you can even order at deshi restaurants here.
What I did have recently is prawn vorta with Daal. That was an epic combination!

Lol, I know what 'aloo bharta' and many others is but let me clarify my question. Is the various sorts of bharta exclusive to just Bengali cuisine or is it served elsewhere like in other parts of India or even in Pakistan as well but with a different name? I am talking about the term 'bharta' specifically.

Had pui shaak with homemade croutons, hard egg bits, goat cheese and mushrooms savoured with honey mustard, nachos with buffalo dip on the side and a bottle of mellow yellow. Can't beat that!

Yes you can. Replace mello yello with the real thing: Mountain Dew.

^Agree, Mountain Dew is better than MY but I actually had a Dr. Pepper today and rued my chances of having it with above. The vending machine with Dew and Pepper was inside the games room near the bowling area (-1 floor) of the Memorial Hall in NDSU and I was sitting on the open area (Ground Floor) which led to a closer less hidden machine which contained the mellow. 9 years wiped a lot of neurons I guess.
BTW, MD has become official drink for fast-fooders in BD in recent years.

I'm not sure how it relates to lal shaak but Dr Pepper used to my favorite pop. Along with Bloomberg, I have eschewed them.

Bhaat with lal shaag with kasundi to start with, then bhaat with mushur daal with gondho lebu and aloo bhaja.
My usual 'breakfast' most days before going to work.
