SheBug on high after his 100 vs England
Quote:
"We have to work hard to take 20 English wickets. They are not Bangladesh or somebody else," Sehwag told reporters. I think it's time he checks the day's score, and not take his new-found form too seriously.

South Africa and Australia just finished a test where the first innings scores were 450 and 565/5 respectively. Considering the strength of South Africa's pace attack and the fact that they could manage just 5 wickets in think the world's flattest track award should go to Australia for now.
|
Two major differences:
1. Both Test attacks in Brisbane are world class (batting and bowling)
2. Total of 1065 runs for 15 wickets (71 per wicket Brisbane), is far lower than current 982 for 10 wickets (98.2 per wicket Dhaka)
3. A whole day loss to washout in Brisbane meant no side wanted to take a risk.
To compare a AUSvSA showdown with a BANvWI is as unfair as comparing Alok Kapil with the great Lance Gibbs, because they both took a hat trick in a Test
I too, appreciate the non-suicidal batting of BD for once. As all of us who have ever coached there say, each time, "the players have talent". Batting "normally" like other Test sides do, is a minimum requirement. Pleased to witness something normal.

had a busy day at the office, but well payed guys, specially naeem.
cricinfo tells 5 of the 6 wickets were giveaways ......
if you look the two scorecards, the WI batsman who got starts scored big, very big ........ but the BD batsman gave it away like, tamim, shakib, mushfiq and nafees ........ this is the habit we need to change and then hope we can get some better pacers ....

That's good enough for now...for one good test match innings so far, After Asia Cup.
This is the continuation of form after Asia Cup....it's normal for the people to not be convinced with one Asia Cup, plus one test match alone, I'm confident of the progress being made, ... Let us continue like this in current series and then next series ...I'm sure, by the end of this year there will be very few small pockets of denials ....
The players have to continue performing for sure.... Doesn't mean that fans can't enjoy these milestones being achieved ....thanks for being with us and joining us ...

Don't be jealous coach, I'm sure your Haryana boys will cross 400 against a Test attack on a flaccid pitch in the next couple of decades.
Btw, the comparison to current Aus batsmen may have been a bit off, I concede. Naeem Islam's batting style is closer to Bradman's I think.

Our team showing a decent batting display without So Called Batting coach.
We are wasting money on Specialist batting coach.
We better appoint Ashraful as a batting coach of BCT.

If we do well, its the pitch. But if they do well on the same pitch, then we suck.

At least he can tell the batsmen what not to do.

They need to continue what they did today. After this pair, Sohag and Shahadat can bat a little, but don't expect too much from them. Rubel will not contribute much. Thus, much depends on this pair. If we can bat out two more sessions, we have a chance to win.

At least for once, we did not get out for 250 in 45 overs on such a track. Much can happen in the next two days, but this is a positive change.

i am guessing the idea is thus to not lose the series or give either side a chance to win. If the wicket was quick and bouncy it would play into WI hands. If it was a spinning top it would play into WI spinners hands as well and open the door for Narine etc.
As things stand with batting on this wicket, it requires batsmen to simply go and have a net in the middle. No more, no less. Both teams racking up MASSIVE scores on an easy paced, dry pitch with no grass. I can see a line of batsmen queuing up to get an innings on this track.
Unless the ball starts to turn sharply on day 4 and 5, the only team that can beat Bangladesh on a wicket like this, is Bangladesh. Job done.
And as long as batsmen don't try to launch the ball into the stands every few seconds, this match will be the dullest draw of all time. So I am not quite sure what this proves in world cricket, other than just don't get out and wait for a pie to be bowled. If you miss out on a straight forward 100 on this beauty of a batting surface, you will likely want to hang yourself!

Who is this Bradman guy I keep hearing about? I think Naeem could have taught him a thing or two about batting...

This will continue until we do it with all these sides...you know so relax and enjoy...no time to convince the critiques. If the team is ok, their performance will speak...
