Default Shakib should stop playing international cricket and concentrate on IPL

Got out playing far too many shots.

Stick to playing IPL, BPL and CPL. We don't need someone who plays for himself. And Bangladesh have done well in the past without any contribution from him.

Just imagine, the old Shakib would have won us the 1st T20 , 1st ODI and would have given a good hope og chasing this one.

Glory hunter. You can't dispatch every ball for boundary, you moron!

Should come to bat just before Gazi, if his style doesn't change. Needs to be dropped lower down the order!

His dedication doesn't seem to be at the same level as before. He needs to be sent a strong message.

with his current batting mentality he needs to be played as a bowling all rounder batting down at #7 or 8. he's a better batsman than that and we need his better batting but if that's how he's going to roll then we need to push him down the order and put someone more stable up the order.

Very disappointed with the way he played today. He was going after every balls and trying very hard to throw his wicket away. He doesn't have the eagerness to score big anymore. Seems like he is being content with quick 20 30 runs.

The old shak wouldve won us this game and all the earlier ones. He just doesnt seem to want and hang around until the end anymore. Just wants to come out and hit every ball. At first he wanted to score hundreds, then he seemed to be satisfied with Half-centuries and now he just want a 20-30 score. I dont have a problem with him getting out. What i dont like is how he doesnt seem to want and shoulder and bat responsibly anymore. He could be so much more. But nowadays he just plays like dumb Afridi

Exactly my thought..

We don't expect him to score a 100 or 50 every match but at least he can bat little more responsibly for his team's sake ... But old Shakib is gone... Shakib is one Bangladeshi player who has the ability to turn around the game ... Who can change gear according to a situation.. So it all depends on him actually .. Seems like he doesn't have the drive to be the best anymore.. His body language tells you he is there just for the sake of it.. If it wasn't his career he wouldn't have cared..

If money is all that matters to him now and no love for cricket then leave cricket and join politics.. Political parties will grab him and he will earn more there...

I knew he lost his passion when he said: "I have earned enough money such that even if I don't perform from now on I can still live a luxurious life for the next 10 years."

This attitude made me sick

Where he said that?

Too much money is just killing the game of cricket now a days. before players used to feel previlidged to represent their country. Now a days they pretend that they are doing a favor for playing for their country.

Ok now don't twist his words.. He didn't say that..

I think he was asked does the fear of not getting to play cricket works on his mind... Shakib said it doesn't as he doesn't let any fear overtake his love for cricket... Then he explained that for cricketers cricket is their career, earning source... So practically most people fears that if they don't get to play then they won't be able to earn.. But for Shakib that's not the case.. Financially he is solvent enough so even if he doesn't play for 10 years it won't hurt... So now he plays cricket for his love for it with no tension ...

Without Shakib we Banglawashed NZ. We were a better team I guess back then. In 2010 we Banglawashed NZ without Tamim who is Shakib's poraner dosto.

I wish we lose both of them before another Asia Cup. We will do just fine. Naeem is much better player right now whom Shakib replaced batting position wise.

Shakib seemed to play for himself, not for this great land. Very selfish indeed. How can you play like that when you need 200 runs? In a do or die match? If I were the coach then I would have dropped him, Mahmudullah and Gazi straightaway.

We are not losing games not because of skills, but for our bad decisions, indiscipline and selfishness. Team/Game planning does not exist it seems, no one is caring for rules. Everything is falling apart.

The likes of Tendulkar/Punter/Kholi earned huge bucks yet you don't see any lack in determination or commitment

First of all i am not twisting his words. I said what he was trying to convey.

And the lack of tension is quite evident indeed Playing for himself

But you used the quotation marks .. Please don't quote someone when you are not sure what exact words they used.. I read the interview
and I didn't think he tried to convey that message either.. He tried to convey something different and tried to be honest on his part..

But what he said doesn't matter anymore as his performance is saying a different story.. So agree that he lacks the drive ..

Not sure has anyone noticed it: TV camera was showing Shakib resting after getting out, he was half naked, resting on a sofa. All on a sudden Shakib held his balls (!) intentionally as camera was on him. It was a dirty show by Shakib. Don't know what he was trying to do.

He is senior stateman, respected sportsman of the country. I am not sure why he did that. It was intentional as the camera was on him. Don't lose your fans Shakib. Do not ruin your fame.

I didn't want to mention it here, but helpless after such an act. Such an idiot he has become.

May be he was checking if those are still there intact or lost them while batting. After all you cannot blame him if he was worried about his future generation. Playing game is one thing, but losing his future generation for playing the game is another thing.

What are you saying? I didn't see anything like this(though I didn't see the whole match). However if this is really true as you described then I am happy that i have not seen it. I would hate to see that. Already lost most of the respect by seeing his reckless and lack of responsibility in the game. Don't want to start hating him by any unprofessional attitude..
