Why do we always think, it's easy to make all those runs. Remeber pitch plays a big role in cricket. And ICC want cricket pitches to have more life for bowlers and batsman both. The only reason subcontinent had flat pitches because public like to see more and more boundaries. So, even though in subcontinent pitches do favour the batsman, it's not the same as it used to be until 2005. Now, most of the pitches do offer some movement for the bowlers too. Just because we want 300, doesn't mean pitches should be made flat like paratha. It doesn't show the class of the batsman and shows how much a bolwer suck. which is not proper cricket.

this is not abig thing. if u think like that then think how many test team bolwers got hattrick? we got one. so these things can happen without any planning.
Small team scored 300 against small teams in small fields. bd plays in huge grounds most of the time. also we r in a stage that we r not playing very week teams too. so i think this is nothing to worry about.

Agreed. And also, how about the most wicket taker for 2006? Don't understand why it's embarassing for lance_klusner.

Look at this score ODI 1446 Scotland V Australia - 1999
I think we did not that bad. Scotland scored 181/7 (50). To chase this Australis needed 45 overs losing 4 wkts.

Score doesn't say anything...although I'm not trying to say we played bad or anything. It might just be that, the Aussies were having a good batting practice.

lance_klusner, the answer is simple, our batsmen arent kluseners in the field, something im relatively happy about considering how he ended up

Don't see 350 as a big-pride stand...Winning is all what matters. And, even for getting 350, I would say our batsmen have ample ability to achieve that.Recipe is - SN gets a steady knock of say 80+ , Aftab, Mash clicks in slogging and Ash-Fool has his Eid day on the same day.
But, I will say again that winning is what matters in the end (434 even is not safe score, Australia feels it better).

I wonder what's the probability for that...mathematically. Someone may want to calculate...and tell us how long we may have to wait to see such a knock.

mehrab will never be replaced by anyone. write it down . by the way, tamim won't make it to one dayers, may be for 20/20. he is a good hitter only when the pitch is flat.

I think we should find a replacement for Mehrab, cause sometimes he acts worse than Javed Omar. We can't always rely on Shahriar Nafees to do get us to a good start. Just like Indian can't always rely on Tendulkar to get them off to a good start. We need back up guys !

mehrab was slow 'caz he was instructed to. we don't need replacement for mehrab, however, backup is necessary in case he gets injured or something. But, mehrab has all the skills and determination to play long time for bd team. whenever a partnership is need to be broken, mehrab is right there with his spin bowling, he had done that for u19 as well. he is one of the best fielders in bd team. his batting will improve after few matches. he just needs the confidence and he will get that soon. by the way, by any means he is not worse than jo.

kisu mone korben na...may i ask, why r u so upset about mehrab? onek din pore amra ontoto ekta balanced opening pair paisi (atleast it seems like it).
mehrab has good good technique except that tendency to play too close to his body...
but he will surely learn a thing or two within the next few months.
and he CAN be aggresive. he scoed 52 just a few days ago in 20/20...off 52 balls

I would be happy if the team reglarly makes 250+ against top teams and 280+ against others such as Zim/ Ken or Scots for the time being. If we have another batsman like Sn who can score centuries regularly we will be seeing a lot more 300+ results.

I dont wanna point my fingers, but there are certain members in the forum who takes it a personal part time ( sometimes fulltime) job to find some fault within the team... no matter what the situation is...
Dear Klusner,
How about winning 8 matches in a row?
How about having the 3rd best winning margin this year? ( regardless of opponents)
How about SN's 1000+ runs?
How about Mashree's 49 wickets?
How about Razzak's good performance?
How about winning against SL this year?
How about.....i keep on writing the list till it bores you to blow your head up...
Like international cricket for BD at the moment, take a break.
Enjoy the great festive season, spend the christmas and the new year's holiday season with your loved ones and come back next year with a fresh positive outlook.
I think that will help you a lot...
thank you.
