We beat Zimbabwe.
In a T20.
At home.
That means we are world champions.

Exactly. We are world beaters. Invincible to say the least.

Yes ZIM is no class opponent, I get it. But when all our world beater and Superstars in the team fail so miserably against the same team (ZIM) and created a BIG HOLE, this young kid along with Young Mosadek played like matured head and gave us the win..... that is nothing to ignore just because we are playing against ZIM.

That one over 30 runs following by diarrhea inflicted senior players' batting made this game almost a lost case before Afif-Mossdek due changed the game.

May be its time to see some few more new bloods who are hungry for opportunities.

Afif shows there's hope.
This must be the only time in BC history where a match thread was opened after the match began

I would like Shakib to tell us why he gave away 30 runs in an over and why he forgot Dollah, Somaya and Afif ( who took 3 wickets the other day ) can bowl ?
Senior batting was woeful, time for some major changes - this can't go on!

Yes unfortunately there is always a chance that he will be another one innings wonder.

But on the other hand he was tracked by the brain trust very early as the next upcoming talent and he is shown g his talent at different level that he played so far.

Lets enjoy his early journey (and success) and lets not mark him early as another failure before giving him enough chance. At this level of cricket, his career will not be always bed of roses.... there will be ups and down.... and I hope he will eventually learn from his mistakes and grow over time.

But at present, he is indeed breath of fresh air.... and reason for hopping for better future.

Certainly a good knock. I was totally expecting him to fail today and BD to limp to a 30 run defeat. Thrilled to be proven wrong.

Positives: Afif looks calm under pressure. Came in with odds stackd 90-10 against BD and did not give a F. Looks a natural scorer like Shakib. Similar style and technique. Shakib's early temperament was average at best, if Afif can improve their, he will be a damn fine batsman.

Mosaddek is becoming the "finisher" we lacked since Nasir lost form.

30 not out today (match saving/winning effort)
52 not out vs WI (single handedly won BD its first mutlinational trophy)
35 crucial runs vs Afghanistan in WC - a match BD could have lost if they didn't get 260+

Mosaddek is also probably the best player of spin we've unearthed. Lets not forget he took on Herath in SL on debut.

Dollah off again on again injured based on which side he wakes up. he may may have waked up today wrong side. So I can understand. Somaya is surprisingly effective for few overs in limited overs games. So he could have used him.

But the total shocker was not even using a single over with Afif. The game was under control until before Sakib's one over 30 runs. Before that he could have used Afif and give him some opportunity to get some experience and exposure.

Well, just shows Shakib is not captaincy material. He has the Habla kana-mama virus

LOL! A 19 years old had to bail out this team of losers, against Zimbabwe!

We prolly should replace this whole team (barring Afif, off course) with our current U/19 team next year, once they're done with their U/19 campaigns

That is the feeling for me too lol!

If we are going to be losing tests at home against Zim and Afg with this 'richly experienced' team we might as cull the lot and start from scratch

After spoiling the whole team, Hasina could not wait doing that to Afif as well - called him right after the match

Afif is good player. Watched him in last BPL, good batting dynamics.

But why do we introduce just one? Throw in more, with just two seniors maybe. Shakib and Rahim. But no gloves on Rahim. If Rahim insists on keeping, give him a lifetime ban, and go with one senior and all newcomers.

I mean, how low can we really get, after losing test to Afg? Why are the bros in law hanging around still?

Winning a hard fought T20 match after losing embarrassingly to Afghanistan in a test match. It's like the Bengali proverb- 'Goru mere juta daan'.

Always thought afif had a bit of the shakib factor, that competitiveness, none of the other players really have it.

I was thinking similar thing. Besides the technical talent, he has the competitive mentality...some confidence level usually you don't see in players of his age.
