Sanath Jayasuriya Under ACU investigation
Allegation is not co-operating.
http://www.espncricinfo.com/story/_/...e-series-focus
Summary: SL lost to Zim 3-2 at SL. He was the chief. ACU asked for a specific phone. He didn't wanted to give that phone stating he had personal videos that he didn't wanted public/ACU to see.
+++
My take: Naah. Not Sanath. He wasn't batting, bowling, or fielding. Losing a series to Zim at home is a concern though. That SL team was in shambles to begin with.

I don't believe Jaysuria would do such a thing. Betting on him to come out of it as innocent

yeah I wouldn't hand over my personal phone on the spot either. I got lot of naked pics in there. And not to mention the text. OMG the texts. Phone these days are the most PRIVATE thing of you - it has access to everything. One shouldn't just hand it over willy nilly. There has to be a freaken warrant (and for very good reasons) from the state to access someone's personal phone.

If Cronje can be guilty, I am sure anyone can be guilty. Specially players from the late 90's and early 2000's. I am sure betting was most prominent at the time although the least cricketers got caught.
I hardly ever feel bad for the guilty but Cronje's confession and his tears still makes me sad. He was no where as corrupt as plenty of other cricketers of that era.

Azharuddin was the big daddy of match fixing in the 1990s. Ridiculous how we allowed a guy like him to skipper the team for a decade's worth, even after noises of the wrong kind started emanating around 1996.
A lot of cricketers were named from that era, but nothing ever happened to them a la Azharuddin and Hansie Cronje. Inzamam, Lara, Wasim, I'm sure Jayasuriya's name would have done the rounds as well.
This particular case may not have anything to do with back then, of course.
