Default some surprising stats

i found the following stats kind of surprsing:

- aftab has a higher test batting average than javed omar (23.36 to 22.93)
- other than enamul, mashrafe has our best bowling average (35.19)
- nazmul has a better test SR than even Mohammad Rafique (77.5 v 83.71)
- tapash's SR is only 93.78
- chacha is our 5th most economical test bowler in history
- mushfiqur rahman is 9th in wickets taken (13)

perhaps nazmul is more test ready than we previously thought. in fact had it not been for his econ, he would have done well.

Aftab, Enamul jnr, Nazmul...none of them did not even play 10 test matches yet
...so there is no point of comparison at this moment...just be patience and see what is there stats going to be after couple of more years

Nazmul should have played the tests. Dont know he could have done worse than others, ODI might prove that.

nazmul can certainly have better SR than rafique. It is the case because Rafique has been used by Bangladesh for almost 50% of the team's total bowling, but being a bowler from bangladesh, he hasnt got that many wickets to have a low strike rate. On the other hand, Nazmul hasnt bowled much, and his few wickets have helped him get that higher strike rate.

Spinners should do most of the bowling anyway. Kaneria does that singlehandedly for Pakistan from one end so why should Rafique be any different.

Khaled Mashud is our worst test bowler. His average is so bad that he had to be dropped from the test team.

I wouldn't mind econ rate of 6 if the average is 30.

A good fast bowler should have a test average of 25 or less. Mash will never achieve that. Batting is a lot easier these days. Shoaib, Mcgrath and Gillespie all have good test averages.

a good bowler should have an average of around 27...think about it under 25 is bowling teams out for under 250. how many teams do that routinely?

i agree with your opinion about batting being easier these days. flat pitches are taking over the world. but, you cant say masri will never achieve a test average of below 25. thats preposterous. the guy is still getting better, and he's been getting wickets regularly...despite of all the injuries. he may not get it, but he certainly has a shot at it.
