Thanks bro. I was aware of that. The 3rd place is very significant because it give you a second chance of qualifying even if you lose the first play off. The same isnt true for the 4th,5th place holders.

I just dont get this British system, Irish plays for England, British plays for Scotland

why cant they drop all these confusion and just play as UK?
All England, Scotland, Welsh players are British! So of course any British player can play for Scotland because if they are Scottish then they are also British! And then Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom so many players qualify for both England and Ireland with links to their parents or grand-parents! Doesnt help that The Ireland cricket team is made up of Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland (Completely separate Country). I agree it can be all very confusing!!

Not sure about the by-laws of the tournament but as nrr is the same (How unbelievable is that!) Scotland might be ahead as they won their head 2 head. So a Kenya defeat might put Scotland through to that 3rd place to have 2 shots at qualifying for Bangladesh. It will be amazing. I already have quite a few friends who are ready to book their flights as soon as Scotland qualify!

Afghanistan and Ireland are clearly the 2 best associates and they showed it once again. Well done to them. Nepal seems to be the find of this qualifiers. They have a good fan base and they have the potential to grow.

told you so!, these two are just too strong, as they are the top 2 associates in T20 Ranking one of them will be in our group

From these two if one lose in the semi final & win the 3rd place match and other one become the champion of the tournament then we will have not to face them probably though its unlikely.

as i read from the tournament format i think rankings will determine the grouping in WC t20, not the performance in the qualifier...as Ire and Afg are the top two ranked associates in T20 and its highly unlikely that somebody else will enter top 2 and both of ire and afg qualified so we'll face one of these two, not both

the top 2 ranked team will not be in the same group

the grouping will be Bd,Afg or Bd.ire/ Zim.afg or Zim,ire

I'd much rather face Afghanistan than Ireland. Irish players play a lot of T20's and are actually more experienced in this format compared to us since they come from the English system.

If Ireland's in Zimbabwe's group, I'd say they would be the favorites over Zimbabwe.

Tikolo produces his magic yet again at the age of 42. Highest run scorer for Kenya with a sr of 162. You gotta feel for the guy, he should've played Test cricket and made more from his career. Kenyan legend.

Fantastic match. Amazing how they managed to get 26 off the last 2 overs. They've got a large fanbase so the potential is there for them. I would love to see an extended Asia Cup featuring Nepal, UAE, Hong Kong and Afghanistan, but we know that isn't going to happen.

afg should be in IMO, they certainly can give us a run for our money, and could test the big 3

nepal still isn't strong enough, might be interesting if asia cup is played in nepal, other then that all the matches will be one sided(considering its a 50 over tournament)

UAE and Hong Kong are made up of Indian and Pakistani immigrants, they were like this in the 1997 ICC Trophy and still is like that, i see no hope for them as a cricketing nation..they'll always be a good associate team but not more than that, you cant develop without local interest, i think even china has a better future then UAE and Hong Kong with Chinese interest in cricket growing.

Congrats to Nepal and UAE. Nepal has been impressive and unlike the UAE, they have all locals. I definitely see a future in them and this should give them a boost.

Now it'll be between Scotland/Netherlands and PNG/HK. I'm hoping PNG makes it. They too have all locals and have been impressive. They seem to have a future as well

Hong Kong closing in on a win v PNG. They would be the 8th Asian team at the WT20 in Bangladesh. Italy v Namibia is getting quite tasty, hoping Italy can pull off another upset.

According to Samakal we have avoided ireland and Afgans in qualifier. We need to beat Nepal, HK and UAE to reach super 10.

I don't see how that's fair for ZIM facing the top 2 associate teams while we get the bottom feeders for an easy qualification. Then again, this T20 WC format is bogus ... all 6 of the associates + 10 test playing nations should have been part of it.
