Good work from the Afghans, they’ve still got some spinners to fully integrate and they have some young batsmen to hopefully unearth.

Their batting is definitely still weak, hopefully some of their young batters develop, quite a few of them did well in their domestic comps. But agree, pacers are lacking also.

Afghans are just eating up Ireland. Andrew McBrine (IRE) is a nobody.

Checked out some video of zazai on YouTube, technique isn’t the greatest, but sometimes players are successful regardless (eg zaman).

Another win for the Afghan team. This time they successfully defended 227. A game I thought the Irish would win...but I forget that Afghanistan's strength is their bowling.

Their bowlers shared the wickets; no bowler getting more than 2.

*Anyone noticed Asghar Stanikzai changing his name to Asghar Afghan?

Pretty great to have the option of a couple of good leggy’s (rashid, Qais Ahmad), a couple of good offies (mujeeb, Nabi), a good left arm chinaman (zahir khan) and a good SLA (amir hamza).

Ind is the host. Flat pitches in UAE. They will get smoked.

I’m getting little worried about Afg in Asia cup. We can’t afford to lose against them.

Nabi, Mujeeb, Rashid bowled 30 overs and choked IRE batsmen

^ won't be surprised to see these guys go to round two. At the moment, luckily our seniors are in good form. So cross your finger and hope that atleast 2-3 performs. Cause we all know, juniors are doing jack.

Was just talking in general, they have solid options in all spin departments which gives them a lot of versatility.

If Ireland don't win today they will get whitewashed in this series as well. Someone needs to step up and bat for a long period.

Ireland picking up the pace.
From 12/1 end of 5 overs (RR 2.4) to 41/1 end of 9 overs (RR 4.55).

40 runs needed 5 wickets in hand. Hmmm!!! 15 overs left. Tense time. Gary Wilson WK comes in joins Simi Singh in the middle.

Series tied. 1-1. Ireland wins by 3 wickets. Simi 36*.

Murtagh should be the MoM. Great effort.

Afghans didn't give up. Well played. They just need to calm down. Too much talking on the field.

What a turnaround, well done IRE.

The first innings video should be a good camp lesson for our bowlers.
