Having problem reading Bangla thread/Message

Firstly thanks BC Admins for letting members write in bangla in the message board. At some point I am planning to download and write few post in bangla.

In the mean time, I am having problem reading the Bangla message. Here is the problem.


For example:


Nasif becomes Nasfi

Lekha becomes Lokho

Chilo becomes Choli

Chothin becomes Kothoni


Looks like 'eker', 'roshi' etc goes to next alphabet.


I used IE and firefox, and both have same problem. Do I need to down load anything even to read? I have no problem reading major bangla online newspapers with the same browsers.

Follow the guide in

Just follow steps (shouldn't take more couple of mins). It will display fine once you are done.

Those newspapers do not use standard Unicode Bangla.

Looks like I need XP Installation disk. Too bad I don't have it handy.

It probably will work just if you install the Fonts pack:

I guess you already found a work around for the windows XP CD problem. Actually all you need from the Windows XP CD is a DLL file named "FTLX041E.dll". You can find it on Google for download. Also the size of the file is just 4KB and I have it handy.
