Default Would have been nice if DailyStar ..

BCB not on the web yet

In this era of information technology, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is still without an official website.

Under these circumstances it is virtually impossible for anybody to get information about ongoing domestic competitions in the country, let alone records and statistics from previous seasons.

Wisden-CricInfo, the world's largest cricket website is the only source of authentic information regarding Bangladesh's cricket but they too concentrate on international matches and competitions and domestic cricket's stats have not been updated for a long time although the 6th National Cricket League (NCL) is already underway.

For scorecards and related news of the NCL, the only first-class competition in the country, one has to depend entirely on media releases from the BCB.

The BCB had signed an agreement with an IT firm Digital Solu-tion to launch an official website which should have been up and running by now. But Digital Solution have not been able to start the site yet.

"They were scheduled to launch the website Tigerscricket.com last month (January). But they need more time apparently because of some technical difficulties," said Zaidan Rabbi, vice-president of the BCB's media committee yesterday without elaborating

Thank you, DailyStar >>

This should have been done a long time ago and the company clearly missed the deadline. I wonder how the website will look once it is officially launched. I don't like the name tigercricket.com either. It sounds very unprofessional (perhaps a good name for a fan site, but not for a cricket board).

Was supposed to be done by January. A contract is a contract Faisal. Should meet the deadline for something pretty simple such as a website. Jottoshob:P

May be they had to start from the scratch.......buying a 'Dreamweaver in 14 days' then reading it through.

Sorry, can't refrain myself from being sarcastic. It's a contractual agreement as it is.

We talked about 'TigerCricket.com' before. It's a non-starter.

What was wrong with.....
a)BangladeshCricket.com
b)CricketBangladesh.com
c)BangladeshCricketBoard.com

TigerCricket.com just sounds tad bit too jazzy!
If you ask me.

Another example of how things run in Bangladesh. I'll bet some moron(s) with no clue got this deal with the aid of their mama-chacha connection. I mean how difficult is it to get a website started ??

Here's a simple idea.

Why don't you all write to DS and tell them about the real heart of Bangladesh Cricket on the internet - BanglaCricket. The foremost sight for and by the fans.

First and foremost deadlines have to be realistic. Since we don't know what was specifically requested and how much time they were given it is premature to complain. Didn't they only decide to make a website about two months ago?

We should absolutely do it - this site has got everything, better than most national sites - all we need is an "official" stamp from BCB.

Dude you are also bangali, so don't forget that.

They were supposed to make a webpage solely concentrating all cricket activities about a country. With my limited knowledge about webpage designing I can tell you one thing, that there is absolutely no way it takes one month to make a webpage of this kind, considering that they are professionals.

It's contrary to what mr. faisal said, "bangali's takes too much time, and that's their problem"

Great idea. I hope someone will atleast write a letter.

It would have been great if we could get an article published in DS about BC. I am sure some of you will have contacts inside DS.
