That's why I see no hope under his leadership. This guy fail to realize his own mistakes, forget about fixing those. In top of that he lost the good traits that he had when he was made the captain: The logic was he is a "unifier", he is "fair and even handed", he is a "learner". All that turned out to be false. The team is divided, confused about their roles, favoritism is making the moral low.

Basically he lost all his credibility to continue as a captain in this team. I don't care who they make the next captain, the sooner BCB make the change the lesser will be our suffering.

And yes I wouldn't mind if the coach is also sacked along with the captain.

As I said earlier, Mushy is going to learn nothing about leadership from posts in a forum..

The performance of BD team is not like corporate performance.
Yes, there are commonalities.
Here is where they differ:
1. The timelines are constricted
2. The effects are immediate
3. There is next quarter - but the reaction times of the observers are less than the half-life of the quarter.

However, the fundamentals of leadership espoused still holds. "Though shalt not degrade thy team mates."

As such in this case a resignation is apropos - because the root cause must be determined.

It is for his own and the team's good.

And for any leader - "The greater good must dictate the personal choice. For a leader the more difficult path is the right one."

Give the leaders/potential leaders in the team the task to read "taking people with you" by David Novak. It will teach you about what leadership is about.
