Om a similar note I need confirmation whether Bangladesh has ever issued any postage stamps/first day cover on BD cricket. Either when they were granted test status or celebrating any matches in Dhaka. Need to get hold of it if they are aroundl.

You won't get any Tiger gears online shopping, online shopping is still a future tech for Bangladesh. You have to go in the stadium area to find these things at a price cheaper than online shops.

However, you can ask in written applications in emails to the Bangladeshi e-commerce websites, may be one day (after 2 to 3 years) you will get lucky.

Default BCCB disallows sale of Kit

As some of you know, I'm in Dhaka right now working on project for UC Berkeley & GP. Some "bideshis" are here with me. One of the bideshis, and Argentine has really taken to cricket and wanted to buy a Bangladesh ODI shirt. I figured I would get one too. So off we go to Stadium market - only no authentic jerseys - just poor-quality knockoffs. Finally we are referred to Intersports in Elephant Road. Go there.

The guys says "yup, we have authentic BD ODI Kit, just your sizes, but the cricket control board has forbidden us to sell them".

Why?

"sir jani na.. just naa korsey, bolsey contract niye jaabe"

Can they be gotten anywhere?

"oder nijoshsho conxion wala agent er thekay petay paaren"

At which point my Argentine friend and I rolled our eyes and left.

I just wonder if Mr. Maqi aka Maqsood Dudhia (CEO of BCCB) knows that ManU(re) makes more money from the sell of merchandise than from tickets. Hai Sellucus, ki bichitro ei desh!
