Batty to Lara, FOUR, outside leg, sweeps, and races away to fine leg, Lara is leaping, fisting the air, means so much to him. Runs down the pitch, punching the air, jumps into the arms of Jacobs, and hugs

The boy's been hungry for too long. Well, I hope he's fed and satisfied now. Hope he remains satisfied throughout our tour.

The Hayden stint must have been eating away at him all this time. Let's see if he gets to 400

In first class, not in tests. I don't think anyone has scored a quadruple in tests before.
I remember reading a funny skit on his 501*. When he was on 60+, a catch was dropped. The bowler commented, "Great, Now he's gonna go and score a century". Lara scored 5 centuries, & didn't stop.:P

It's good that lara scored few (!) runs in this series so he can sit back and relax in the next series. Besides, having a blonde stunner as girlfriend ( seen her on paper) i strongly advise him to take a break from cricket for personal reasons. he took a brake last time arround just after when broke the record and could do the same. I promise if he take a complete brake for three months now he'll be able to break a record in future.

Lara\'s Girlfriend Cr*p at Cricket Too - From \"The Skink\"
Lara's Girlfriend Cr*p at Cricket Too
Manchester, Friday: Brian Lara's English girlfriend Mandy Norks has removed an errant lock of hair from her face and giggled endearingly at suggestions from newsmen that she could compete for Brian's place in the West Indies embattled cricket XI.
"Well, that's true. I could," she said giggling, endearingly. "But I'm not a complete f***wit. Who'd want to be associated with that schoolboy rabble?"
"I'm just rooting Brian."

Something to Realize!
So the test cricket history touches the mark of 400 runs in an innings by an individual batsman!!
Congrats to the great guy!!
Just a superb example of how big an innings can be by a batsman...!
Newly rising BD batsmen may just take a look at it, then take a deep breath and prepare themselves for the Greater Scale of cricket!!..
we will be expecting some really big scores(maybe something around 200's will be practical for now) from our batsmen in the near future.. not just 50's or 100's.
Who is going to be the Pioneer??

Looks like the pitch is not that dead after all. Adds more credibility to Lara's monumental innings.

Long hours of fielding taking it's toll too. Too bad, the WIs are finding their footings just before our matches!

What an innings?! The greatest test batsman in contemporary cricket. It was a win-win for Windies. They have such a huge score to defend and a tired England have to save the match. They are already down 5 and should have been down 6 (Lara dropped the catch when he went up to celebrate)!
A true genius is Lara, and it was an honour to watch him

Damn the time difference I missed it... Well done Lara, he deserves the honour
(now let's hope all the hype and his gf gets to his head so he loses his form again. SOON.)

I didn't think he could but then I had my doubts after the 300+ and the distant memory of the 501 was creeping in. Great job by Lara. Now he and his merry teammates will be too content with their performance, leaving Rafique and co. an easier job of dispathing west indies. Ladies and gentleman, West Indies managed to be beat and humiliated by Kenya and the team plays reckless at times. Nothing is impossible for us and them.
