Not the way we should think. Shakib is a player of his own league, and thus asked to play everywhere in the world. Yes we improved a whole lot in 5 years, but our players are still overlooked worldwide. Apart from shakib, how often do you see our players participate in foreign tournaments.

Its only shakib here, shakib there. How many of our players get chances in BBL, FLT20 and IPL?

^ Agree with above comment. It only applies to Shakib as he is in his own league. I bet other cricketers like Tamim, Mushfiq, Riyad will have a milad party if they get to play in Aus/SA/Eng domestics. Tamim had a short stint with Notts and that's only for T20s.

Let's just look at SL. Players like Thisara Perera (Brisbane Heat), Jeevan Mendis / Sachitra Senanayeke (Sydney Sixers) are playing in Big Bash this year. Really who is this Sachitra guy? And our Tamim, Mushy still gets overlooked.

Still a long way to go.

I think Jeevan Mendis played 1 ODI and Sachitra Sena. played no matches in AUS. They are picked solely on their reputation of good T20 players. I didn't mention Malinga and Murali because they are quality players and deserve to play anywhere.

Our last tour of Aus was in 2008 I think and Shakib, Tamim, Mushy were just starting out then (played 3 ODIs). So we don't know how they would perform now. We don't have any tour planned for AUS in next 5-7 years. That means an entire generation of our best bunch (Shak/TI/Mushy) might not play in AUS again (beside the 2015 WC).

It's just sad to see no name cricketers like Lakmal, Pradeep, Karunaratne, Thirimanne play in SCG/MCG and our boys missing out.

নারে ভাই,শুধু সাকিব একা এমন ওয়ার্ল্ড ক্লাস প্লেয়ার হলেও তাও বা কম কিসে! আমরা সাকিবকে তৈরি করতে পেরেছি এটাও অনেক কিছু,সাকিবের পথ ধরে আসছে নাসির,আনামুল,মমিনু ল আর জিয়ারা! তামিম কাউন্টি,আইপিএল,নিউ জিল্যান্ডে খেলার ডাক পাচ্ছে,মুশফিক,রিয়া দরাও এসএলপিএল দিয়ে শুরু করছে,এগুলো আমাদের মতো ক্রিকেট ফ্যানদের জন্য অনেক কিছু যারা গত এক যুগ ধরে বাংলাদেশ ক্রিকেটের নাড়ীর সাথে জড়িয়ে আছি,আপনারা হয়তো যেটা ফিল করতে পারবেন না। আমরা হাবিবুল বাশার,আশরাফুলদের মতো ক্রিকেটারদের কাছ থেকে একটা ভাল ইনিংসের আশায় বছরের পর বছর চাতক পাখির মতো চেয়ে থাকতাম যারা তারা সাকিব,তামিম,নাসির,� �নামুলদের দেখে বুঝতে পারি আমাদের ক্রিকেট সত্যিই এগিয়ে যাচ্ছে।
