This is one example of bureaucracy, how it is ingrained in every sector. The way Government contracts are defined you need to follow a certain structure. Instead, if it was run independently you could actually define different salaries for each individual based on their experience, performance, athleticism , records and popularity both domestic and international level. The players could also have their say if they wanted to disagree to the terms or pay.

The BCB convened an emergency meeting to discuss captaincy and pay grades? Are they for real? Off the top of my head, I can think of at least three issues that really require an emergency meeting: (i) BPL, (ii) Pak tour cancellation and (iii) new head coach. I'm not sure I understand the BCB's priorities.

I dont think the selectors alone are deciding the grade/BCB payroll. Thats beyond their goal of selecting teams for series/tournaments. The pooled players show who are within BCBs consideration and immediate plans-- Nazmul, Imrul, etc. arente. But I think BCB can pull any players they want but the pooled players are getting regular salaries..
So, what happened to Saqlan? His name wasn't mentioned specifically compared to Weerasinghe.

EXACTLY!!....I mean why did they have emergency meeting to discuss something that they should have been doing as its a part of their job anyways?? They should have been planning for this not rushing it as a emergency!!
Emergency meetings are for things not anticipated. So they basically were not doing their job, which is why they had to call emergency meeting to quickly get it done??
