I believe so. But what I meant was Hashim is a South African by birth and has every right to represent his country. For immigrants, there should be a cut off age, where you if you come into the country after that age, you cannot play for the country.

I don't think there should be any age restriction. I think a better rule to put in place is that a player has to declare which country he represents. For those who have dual citizenship (Dirk Nannes for example) has to declare early on in his career which country he intends to play for. You shouldn't be allowed to play for one country, and half way through your career go play for another country. This is the rule FIFA uses, and ICC can easily implement this rule as well if they wanted to.
It's BS how Morgan can play for Ireland, and than months later he is playing for England. If he thinks he is good enough to play for England, than he should have never represented Ireland. Same goes for Nannes. Guys like Jeetan Patel, Sodhi, Usman Khawaja there should be no question them. As far as I know they are all citizen of the country they represent, and never tried to represent any other country in international cricket

Agreed.Declaration of country of choice before 18 years of age should solve everything. Because what if a cricketer plays all his first class cricket in one country, then immigrate to Canada between 20-40, and walks into their national team? This has happened with many Indian guys I believe who now play for the canadian national team. The declaration mandate would solve this.

What happens to the kids who's mom is from Australia/England dad is from Bangladesh or the other way around. Do they not play cricket at all? Why can't we get a fast bowler for ourselves through this ICC loophole?

Because those kids probably live in Australia/England and have no intentions of dealing with the daily struggles of life in Bangladesh.

but still representing the national side and being able to perform at a world stage should be a huge motivation. Lets say the kid is tall and well built and plays club cricket in Australia as a fast bowler and is fairly good... he would have a great chance of making it to the BD national team.

??? dude you are few weeks late. that post was written when our politician were playing with things they shouldnt be playing with, the debt ceiling... market reacted for about 3 days, (3days post that post) but then with increasing pressure and even from comments from china to cut this Sh*t out, they decided to extend it a bit....republicans arent that ballsy that they would do something that gonna wipe out half of their own assets....
now i thinks it will be alright in near future.. same talk will come up again in few months and wall street will just ignore them.....

i think life for bangali kids/immigrant kids are tougher in west than how it would be in bd....
i paid for my own pair of jeans at the age of 13 by working..... in bd 13 year old kids still drink their mom's breast milk...
unless u are a destitute (not to be confused with a prostitute copyright Zee) in bd working in bd garment factory then yeah u got it tougher.
