New front page article: David Vs Goliath : BC Preview of Bangladesh in Australia, 2008.
David Vs Goliath : Preview of Bangladesh in Australia, 2008.
Abu Choudhury
The Old Testament recounts the story of David and Goliath. Ignoring the gory end of the biblical tale, there is a certain symmetry with the Australia v Bangladesh ODI series. Bangladesh tour Australia for closer to four weeks than forty days, and rather than single combat the series will comprise three one-day internationals. Nonetheless, victory for the Bangladeshis against the reigning world champions will take a monumental effort. Abu Choudhury previews Bangladesh's three match ODI series against Australia.

lol. I'm not very good at thinking up nicknames. In the late 90s there was a mobile phone operator in England called one2one (now Tmobile) so I just copied that and called myself abu2abu...

Good one.
That's why I just used my last name! I'm not good at thinking it up either!

Nice, very nice. But you got the metaphor the other way round. Australia doesn't stand a chance.

The title of this article is very appropriate. On the field, when comparing size of the two teams one will notice right away that they are indeed David(BD) and Goliath(AUS), .
Aussies have muscle power and stamina, mentally they are strong, BD has to struggle quite a few more years before they can even come close to the power of the aussies.
Still, as the saying goes David can still outsmart Goliath.

my thoughts exactly...i'm quite excited.
we really need to make a series out of this. heck, i'll take fighting tooth and nail in a single dead rubber - thats how pathetic we've been for over a year now.
on a different note, i remember back in the day, writing previews was my job. good to see BC has a replacement. carry on Abu bhai.

Hi abu2abu! Did you mean Dravid-vs-Golla? I am confused. David-vs-quarks?

I quite like the line from JS "We didn't come here to play practice matches", arrogantly reminding the journalists that Bd's success should be judged against Australia not some high performance sports institute team.
