Default Our ODI team- where are the potential headaches?

Frankly, I don't think we have formed a dream team yet. And we are not ready for England, yet. But it's getting there.
We have too many unfulfilled potentials in our pool and as yet there is'nt a healthy competition for each of the spots to create a team that can be sent to England this summer. The dilemma is posed by the experience that players such as Rafique, Mahmud and Pilot offer and that cannot be denied. But sadly, there are going to be a few retirements and this is my team looking at post WC:

Possible team after the WC2007 and some random notes:

Openers:Nafees Iqbal
Openers:Nafees Ahmed
No 3. spot:Rajin(Captain)- (Bashar retires 60 percent chance)
Mpace options: Aftab
legspin options:Ashraful
legspin/SLA options:Alok/Manjural Islam Rana
Shamsur Rahman (Sujon retires-100 percent chance)
WKeeper: Pilot- ( Pilot retires-60 percent chance)
Pace:Tapash/Shafaq
Pace :Masrafee/Talha
Spin options: Enamul /Shuvo (Rafique retires 80 percent chance)

-Main worry is the place of wicketkeeper
-Main hope is that we will eventually find a suitble opener in the two Nafees.
-And Shamsur Rahman will be in a healthy competition for the no. 6 spot
-Our legspinners like Ashraful will be more confident/refined and contribute more to the bowling options
-Rajin will be ready for captaincy so that selection is made easie if Bashar opts to retire.
-Either Shafaq or Talha are viable second pace options.

Rajin, (as the only captaincy option as we speak) and taking over the no.3 spot, makes more sense than his role as a one day opener.

A small note: I am not a keen fan of the power chase. nor of Rafiq as a long term opener.

You're 2 years early for this thread.

We should rather talking about England tour.

Unless we discover some real charecter in our players, we're in for a rude shock for early summer schedule. We relied heavily on our SLA strength to defeat inexperienced Zim side on our own backyard, but for England we need to completely overhaul our strategy. All our players need to improve their performance by two notch higher, show charecter to encounter professional English outfit .

England tour:

1. need a replacement for Javed Omar, who will be found out by the swinging ball. Nafees Ahmed with his experience of English conditions should be considered as replacement.

2. Bowling: Need 4 front-line seamers to make the tour. Mashrafee, Tapash, Nazmul, Shahadat and Shafaq Al-Zabir should be considered. We should look to play three of them in each test.

Test team (my preferred order):

Nafis Iqbal
Shahriar Nafees Ahmed
Aftab Ahmed
Mohammad Ashraful
Habibul Bashar
Rajin Saleh
Khaled Mashud
Mohammad Rafique/Enamul Haque Jnr.
Mashrafee Murtaza
Tapash Baisya
Shafaq Al-Zabir/Shahadat Hossain

Something is not quite right...hmmmm!

I would say that Shafaq wont get a game. I think Nazmul will he bowled well in the CT remember. Just last september. That was in England. He has a chance.
