why no nafis iqbal in your t20 team? Forgot his heroics in PCL?

yes nazmus sadat has been ignored even though he's a player who has performed (although his last season wasn't his best). i think it's strange that marshall ayub didn't get picked but other than him i'm not sure any of the academy players should have got in (maybe nasir or saqlain sajib but that would be from domestic performance rather than academy performance).

i think selectors want to test these so called experienced boys. its been long time they are out of any competitive cricket. I think its good to have an alternate team ready.

now we have
national team
academy team
bangladesh A team
ICL return
under 19 team

its more exposure for the players. i think the selectors are in the right track.

i'd prefer to have nafis iqbal in my team than any of hannan, nadif or faisal hossain.

i'd be hard pressed to play anyone of the other batsmen ahead of imrul, shamsur, NI, nazmus and rajin (in the tests). i know nothing about imran ahmed, and i'm not really a fan of hannan or faisal (maybe play him in the tests) and i think nadif is way way overrated.

due to lack of batsmen it would be hard to go past ziaur, dollar and sajidul as your pacers, shuvo obviously gets in (not only for his bowling but his handy batting ability).

saghir as the keeper.

from NewAgeBD
‘From this year we have decided not to accept any player in the academy aged above 23. It will help us spot the right talent and hone his skills over a one year period,’ said former cricketer Shakil Kashem, who is in charge of the academy, while announcing the team.
‘The South Africa tour is part of their graduation,’ said Kashem, who believed that the players would be able to apply their knowledge they gained from the Academy practically on the tour.

http://www.newagebd.com/2009/aug/03/spt.html

This is probably the reason why Academy boys are not getting selected for A team. They will be coached for a year and after that new batch will be getting their chance.

What I am finding confusing is - although within age bracket, Sadat had not been selected for the academy. But selectors keep picking him for the A-team.

Murad left out Nazmul Hossain Milon. He is another player who has been ignored by the academy (although he is within age limit) yet got selected for the A-team!

This team is a nice combination of youth and experience. Its a very strong team as well.No academy player that means U19 is pipe line for academy>>A team >>National team.Academy and A team will be player supplier for national team. Our selectes r interested to put some experience for players before entering national team. Our selectors r also flourishing in professional manner good to see it.

this will also provide good competition for the players to make the team againt Zimbabwe..I'm very interested in seeing whether Shorwadi Shuvo takes this oppurtunity and shines..if he does then watch him get selected to play against Zimbabwe..also Shamsur Rahman has to play well..if he plays well then he could get the call up as well..I think the biggest competition however will be amongst the pacers..I'm really interested to see if Shahadat can beat out all these pacers..with his experience he really should outplay all of them..but knowing his inconsistency I would not be surpised if the other bowlers outplay him..I think Dolar has to come out again and really show the the 4 wickets against Zimbabwe was no fluke..he's gotta continue the good work and he should get the call up...

Wow, they are alot of good emerging players in that team. I hope they do well.
It would have been good if they gave the ICL'ers a chance to prove themselves here.

nope...title is okay.

when Bangladesh tours India...it says...Bangladesh (visitor) Tour of India (host), on the other hand, when India tours Bangladesh...it says...India (visitor) Tour of Bangladesh (host).

as BD A team is going to Maharastra, BD A (visitor) tour of Maharastra (host) is right !

ur logic with Rangamati doesnt apply here !

Unfortunately, they have to wait until the cooling period is over.
