So, what scientific measure do we take? No measure will save us, as long as we do not turn towards our God.

I actually felt the quake!
I was just in bed, still up..and suddenly this light shaking of my bed!
It was only couple of seconds and i didnt realise what was happening. Quake was the last thing on my mind.
Still lying on my bed, lights off and eyes closed, i thought its just my imagination and may be my mind was making it up. Then i thought may be i was moving and hence i felt the bed moving. Then i actually shaked my body a bit to see if it felt the same and it didnt.
I was even thinking of may be a muscle spasm which let me to a little shaking!
Then all of a sudden i remembered of the movie "Exorcist", and that infamous scene where the girl's bed was shaking when she was possessed.
Then i laughed a bit, thinking may be i was just thinking too much and concentrated on trying to sleep, giving very little thought to it.
......I woke up this morning only to find out it was a quake!!!

One thing you gotta understand is that sometimes God will will it and it will happen even if the whole population is God fearing Muslims as a test or something.
Compare with Japan which has less than 0.05% Muslim population but is the most earthquake resistant country in the world. So we can conclude that this is random phenomenon. Randomly dubbing it as act of God makes you look like someone who knows what God does and what he doesn't. It's like playing God.

I would rather go for earthquake than those middle of the night cramps which feels someone stabbed your leg with an axe.

frequent earthquakes are only a minor sign of day of Judgement...Allah knows best.
i remember in my lifetime, Bangladesh having at least three of them. i am sort of happy that alhamdulillah it did't last very long and it didn't create that big of a deal, nor excessive lives were lost nor property... maybe Bangladesh gvernment could contact japanese government and do something about this in case we want to avoid future disasters

Unless you want to uproot the entire nation's flimsy building structures and replace with good earthquake resistant ones, I am afraid no tips from anyone will help. And that everyone knows is impossible.
