Default I cried today

There are so many examples of men's inhumanity to men that often we get desensitized - it's news, it happened over there etc. For some reason, reading this news struck me quite emotionally. Perhaps, because I am a father and the boy is younger than my daughter.

There's a difference between being a human and being a dog.

It's sickening.

Dogs would be insulted to be associated with these people.

300 years later, people will look back at these times and identify us as monsters of the dark ages. Or so I hope...

Not to undermine this story in any way whatsoever, but the tortures in Abu Ghraib and Nazi concentration camps are the worst of mankind. (But I have my own philosophical outlook on this esp. after watching the movie The Counterfeiters and I will respectfully keep them to myself).

:-(

This is not about us and them. It is about what struck a chord in my heart.

Zeeshan, when there's something wrong as this, there's no degree or magnitude of 'wrong-ness'. We're talking about a story in the light of current situation. Not in all cases would someone come up with Abu Gharib and Nazi...although they were wrong. So was the massacre in '71. So was all the rape in '71. So was the Pearl Harbour attack. So was the Atom Bomb attack on Japan. But what makes this particular story so incredibly sad is that, it's a 6 year old boy...who had to live through this for 2 freakin years!

Kabir - well said.

I am not sure how to convey to you all how much this one story struck me. Those who are fathers will feel it more - about the hug.
