Default BoyCott comments on Bangladesh Cricket...

http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/conte...io/556521.html

Boycott said, Bangladesh need all the cricket they can get to be on the TV. Their association wants to get TV money. Their cricket is till poor, quite poor actually. More ICC money is spent on them than any of the new countries out there who wants to make it in big league. Bangladesh have not delivered. Playing at home, they have performed reasonably ok, but playing away they are still very poor and the money that has been pored in is wasted.

This is a very ill statement by Boycott but nothing better I expected of him. True, money has been invested on Bangladesh Cricket. But its not like ICC did not make any money from Bangladesh at all. Compared to countries like West Indies, Zimbabwe, Ireland, we have a huge fan base and our domestic system is much stronger than theirs. These are old talks..... Bangladesh needs to perform very well in the Asia Cup and on the Pakistan tour and later against Sri lanka. We need to shut these critics.

Off course we performed well at home. Well boycott is trying to lobby for more attention to Irish and Scottish cricket. Fair enough. He hasn't said anything wrong. We are yet to perform abroad. We just performed against reduced WI and Zim abroad. We need to do better.

Boycott said everything correct.

Our cricket is poor. (standard)
Our cricket board is just like the country. Bottomless basket. All the money in the last 10+ years have gone where?
Away series we could not even compete last time. Getting 0-3 against someone who is below you is not performing.

Had this been said by an ex-player many of us would praise him.

True. All boards do.

Berry true.

We're a Test side, so true I think.

Can't argue with that.

To conclude, the man has spoken nothing but the truth. Besides, given how we fold for below 200 in ODIs, I wouldn't be surprised if his mom actually does bat better than our top order.

Bloody hell as if England have ever played well away from English-style pitches. Send them to the subcontinent and watch the world laugh at how they play spin.

I'd like to see Ireland or Scotland win a game here in Bangladesh.

Boycott always says these kinds of things.
If he ever talks sense then I will eat my hat with salt and pepper!

I dont agree with some members here. Boycott criticized Bangladesh Cricket and he thinks the money invested on this country is a waste and it could have been used for other associates. Do it! Lets see the result. I dont say how this Englishman says it when the record with that team in ODI is tied 2-2 over last 2 years. I dont know when Bangladesh team will improve but associates are no match for Shakib-Sunny-Raj combo at home. Heck even any non asian teams would struggle more or less here.

I'm sure after couple years of BPL we can pay back ICC and send them a thank you card.

On a more serious note, I did't know ICC still spend money on us? I mean BCB isn't that poor. If anything they should help SL board.

after BPL, i think our cricket will start to improve and players will take FC matches more seriously to get into this extravaganza.

Now this guy wishes that less investment is done with us? Did he not take into account that associate nations players where allowed to play in BPL? Has Bangladesh not done anything to cricket? of course not.

Ireland and scotland are not better teams than us, and even poorer when they are out of their comfort zones.

Boycott, plz stop all ur BS talks

Where did ICC spend more money on BD? And among the bottom ranked teams, BD has easily the best fan base, so duh - blame them all for crappy cricket - but the last thing you could accuse BD is of making ICC lose money - that's an utter pile of rubbish.

All of what he said was not only true, but also the Boycott's mama would have made a better coach than Law.

I am sure Boycotts mama would have better jokers than Boycott is, perhaps take more than a joker to name your boy as such.

I am not sure but see in this way, his comments can be a blessing in disguise for us. hope the players will boost up morally and try to prove him wrong.
