Default "Mashrafee should have been rested in the ODIs and playing in tests" - Ravi Shastri

Ravi Shastri had this comment in the commentry box about resting Mashrafee Mortaza. He said if you think he is not 100% then why playing him in ODIs? rest him in the ODIs and play him in the test matches. Playing him in the ODIs and resting in the tests is not a good idea. I myself tend to agree with his comment. Your views on this..........

I believe our Physio makes the decision and gives the green signals for the players regarding the fitness! Somewhere (I forgot the source...sorry!) I read that physio released Mashree for the shorter version of the game, however, not for the tests. Selectors probably have little role here..........

We have more chance to win a ODI realistically against Srilanka (DOnt get me wrong, I would always want BD to win) and 1 day reuires less fitness. SO, it was the right decision.

masri is not fit enough to bowl more than 15 overs a day.so there is no way that he could play in the test series.

In my opinion, Mashrafee should not have enen played in the ODI series. What was the guarantee that he had not injured himself in another place in the ODIs?

Having said that, I think Ravi Shastri commented on that without knowing the full facts - that Mashrafee is not fit to bowl more than 15 overs a day.

I agree with the majority here. However, I still think that all our selectors, team management are giving more preference to ODI cricket than Test cricket and it is in the test cricket where we should concentrate to improve more than in the ODIs. So, I will urge our team management, selectors to work on our test team.
