The bowler did the right thing, true sport to true sport. But Tamim did something phenomenal. Like a phoenix if you ever fell off in your life you can rerun this clip TIK defending a body line delivery one-handed.

very well said. Bowler needed to be as vicious as possible with that ball to Tamim. i personally would have either tried a yorker or target his wrist. that ball was going to his broken hand if it didn't touch the bat.

Love it!

I always laugh whenever someone says our "seniors" don't care. They care, they care a lot. They're just dumb/have bad habits that they keep repeating.

Respect to Tamim.

Unfortunate about the initial injury though.

It was amazing to see how Mushy took advantage of the situation. Scoring 30+ crucial runs.

He even turned down couple of 2s coz I think Tamim wasn’t comfortable with quick running between the wicket.

Stuff of legends really. It will be talked about for generations to come.

229 and 261 is too different target. All because of Tamim. This shows what this match meant to them. OVER MY DEADBODY attitude. Wow!!!

When Tamim saw Mushi fighting a lone battle with cramp, he lended a hand. We are all in this together. You are not alone. That was the message. Truly, I was speechless at this foolishness. Inside me was giving a standing ovation.

What examples they are setting!! This is what winning attitude looks like. With inferior talent, many teams brought down far superior athletes combined team. Now the juniors need to grasp this concept.

BD cricket is running now. (Anyone remember crawling, walking, jogging, running, sprint evolution?)

Mushi was cramping and didn't wanted to take the risk himself.

i think SL would have won if the target was 230 for win particularly in that pitch. Ppl look at SL got out for below 200 and doesn't give much thought but the psychological impact of chasing that par score made them play rather reckless.

BD bowlers woould have gotten demoralized with every boundary scored off of them if the target is that low also.

Tamims gesture looks so much sweeter only because what Mushy has done in response and what the bowlers did in response.

"I felt very brave in those ten seconds when the bowler was running in," Tamim told ESPNcricinfo. "I was very pumped up after hearing the roar in the stadium. I could have got out or anything else may have happened, but in that moment, I was very, very committed to the team and nation.

"It was quite risky now that I think about it. My injured hand was behind me but when I played the ball, you'd notice that the hand had come in front. If I had missed the ball, it would have hit my hand."

Still, sensing every run would be vital in the Asia Cup opener against Sri Lanka, captain Mashrafe Mortaza put forth the plan in the dressing room. "I thought Mashrafe bhai was joking when he said I should go out to bat. The initial decision was for me to go to bat in the last over, if I am off strike. I would just have to stand there," said Tamim.

"I started padding up when Rubel [Hossain] was at the crease. Mashrafe bhai cut open my gloves. For the first time in my life, someone had to put on my abdomen guard," Tamim laughed. "Mominul [Haque] and the others helped me put on my pads. My bandage got meshed with another glove. Everyone was helping me."

"When the moment arrived, it was still undecided what was going to happen. I didn't think of anything. I just walked out. The moment Mustafizur got out I didn't have a second thought. I was asked if I was sure of doing this. I said I was quite sure," he said.

"I had a lot of high hopes with the Asia Cup and I was overcome with emotions at that moment," he said. "I felt that if by playing this one ball the team can get five or 10 runs, it'd help the team. I thought that if I had to play one ball, then why not?

"Nobody expected that I'd play that one ball and 32 runs will come from the other end. Mushfiqur batted in an extraordinary manner."

"I don't think I have experienced such a thing in my life," he said. "I can see all the reactions [now], but when I was going out to bat or facing that delivery, I didn't think of what might happen afterwards. I just went there for the team and country."

Shows how much he cared and looked forward to this Asia Cup. Hats off.

I feel like Tamim takes the games against any sides very seriously. The fact that he cant play the rest of the tournament is simply devastating

He hates warm ups.

++++
Different sets of mentality. It was engraved in to our mind from early childhood to warmup before any physical sports to limit injuries.

Many moons back, when I played soccer for the Pioneer league, Cadet college, or for the University (UCA), I use to love to warm up. It would pump me up. 10+ laps, stretches, light kicking, stretches, long kicking, more laps. Approx 30 minutes to an hour warmups depending on time available and where the match is going on, beginning or end of season etc.

He has to be on a diet. At one point, he was as chubby as Angelo Matthews. But when I saw him in the WI tour, he looked very lean. Had a good built and toned. In stark contrast to the old tultula Tamim.
