I have a feeling, this will be the team. Rakibul may also be selected. Instead of whom that I don't know: will it be SN? Or Hom?

However I have a feeling, this may not be the order.

Who designed the Mirpur SB stadium? You can start play 30 minutes after rain stop. Can't the Chittagong people get pointers about drainage from him or her?

While I do see him batting up at No.5 from his customary No.7 in test cricket, I would be very reluctant to move him up further more, since he is also the wkt keeper. You have to keep it in mind. In case we are batting second, you don't want to see him batting early after keeping the whole day or two. Its very draining. So, No.5 but not further up.

Batting order should not be cast in stone. The coach and captain should be flexible to change the order if necessary. (But, they should not change it arbitrarily, otherwise there will be chaos and mayhem.)

Once the opposing captain declared the inning after a rain to make Bradman's team bat on a "sticky" wicket. (This is during the time when sissy's did not play; wickets would not be covered during rain.) Bradman sent his tail-enders to open the inning and kept sending them until the end of the day. Next morning the wicket was fine and he came in after another wicket fell. He scored a century (naturally) and Australia won the match.

Nice story.

No, it should not be cast in stone, but we do need to figure out some positional stability in the top order. Openers are set. 3 and 4 are not, though I see SN occupying no.3 and Rok no.4. Sakib likes no.6, but I doubt Mushy comes in at his customary no.7 in tests. He is a man in form. So, I think he will come no.5 and make it his own. Plus, Riyad is out.

Windies recall Simmons for injured Barath

West Indies have recalled opening batsman Lendl Simmons in the Test side to replace injured Adrian Barath, team officials said on Wednesday.

Barath suffered a hamstring injury and was forced to retire hurt during the first match of the just-concluded one-day series last week.

‘Simmons will take the place of Barath in the Test side. Barath will be staying with the team to have his treatment and rehabilitation done,’ team’s spokesman Phillip Spooner told reporters in Chittagong.

Simmons, who has played seven Tests, is in the form of his life make seven fifties and a century in his last 11 ODIs.

The Test series begins on Friday in Chittagong, where Bangladesh skittled West Indies out for 61 runs and romped to eight-wicket win in the third ODI.

The second Test will be held in Dhaka from Oct 29 to Nov 2.
It's actually a gd news for WI.

I actually would like to see Naeem tried at 3 or 4. He has the test mentality and hopefully, can stay to build an inning.

Whatever happens, I hope that the selectors play the same team for both tests. One and out is not good. Anyone can have an off day. (I know, I know, some can have off year or decade...)

I would like it too. But, I think they will play SN at no.3, citing experience and what not, but I have little faith in his technique. I think they will pepper him with short balls, only to serve him up a full one, which he will edge promptly. Hope I am wrong.

Yes this will be a real tough call for both of them. Both played in NCL.Rock played at Bogra and Sunny was playing at Rajshahi.Further more sunny bowled 24 over today. Both of them have to come to Dhaka by bus 5/6 hour journey then they will go to CTG.Definately a tough call. When i saw sunny playing at Rajshahi for Dhaka divisional team on 17th i thought he will not play the 1st test.
