External News Item: In UK election, voters in Afghanistan, Ghana and Bangladesh will also have a say
In UK election, voters in Afghanistan, Ghana and Bangladesh will also have a say
The Guardian
Thousands of people in Afghanistan, Ghana and Bangladesh will be voting in the UK general election under a unique project that enables Britons to donate their vote to foreigners in the developing world.
The initiative, Give Your Vote, will come to prominence on Thursday when the UK's televised leaders' debate on foreign policy is broadcast with subtitles to crowds in the capital cities Kabul, Accra and Dhaka.
Under the scheme foreigners are being offered the chance to use a ballot paper belonging to one of the growing number of UK-registered voters.

Interesting idea but a true globalized democracy would be to let any people from any country to vote
I don't understand why a Brit has to give up their vote to some one else. His interest is as important as some one in Bangladesh. If you wanna truly represent, give some quota but don't take away a vote from your own citizen.

He donated a job for you. Now you want his voting rights. What's next - his wife and kids?
All you brits please visit this site www.giveyourwife.org and donate your wife to a Bangladeshi midget.

Unless one of my British coworkers is also a famous football star, popstar or actor, they can keep their wives....

Yeah you are right. It might be a trap. He might wanna exchange his votes for YOUR wife. These foreigners are tricky people. We lost many bangalee apas and bhabis to them. And that makes me sad. I want them back where they belong - in our kitchen, cooking shorishar ilish for us.

no, aint gonna vote for the corrupted one being treated illeagally...its rather like chorer upor batpari r ki....u know if they hear an instant "No" from us after offering a request smile, the consequence can be dangerous.violent. simply they minimum like to hear pseudo promise, "Yes my vote will go for you"(Though wont vote for him)That makes them relaxed untill the result. That's the problem. people in BD haven't got the power to reject them blatantly.
Just acting!
