Nurul Abedin - assistant coach of BD \'A\' team
In Bangladesher Khela, I read that Nurul Abedin Novel (Minhazul Abedin Nannu's brother) is going to be the assistant coach of Bangladesh 'A' team.
Did anyone else posted this news?

Somebody must have posted this - since I knew this (probably from BC forum) since last 3/4 days.
Wasn't Novel a curator for MA Aziz wickets?

Nobel is engaged with the A-team for, atleast, last couple of weeks. Yes, he supervised the making of MA Aziz pitches. He mentored many young Chittanga cricketers, but I doubt he has any formal qualification as a coach.

Wisden overview
Nurul Abedin opened the innings in Bangladesh's first-ever official one-day international, against Pakistan at Moratuwa in 1985-86, but sadly his third-ball duck was not the prelude to a glorious ODI career. In four matches over the course of five years, he managed just 15 runs, at a strike rate of barely 1.5 an over. But as a big fish in a smaller pond, Nurul was quite a predator. In the ICC Trophy of 1990-91, he smacked a century against Canada and 85 against Denmark, as Bangladesh were eliminated at the semi-final stage by a strong Zimbabwean side. Andrew Miller
So he had a century in ICC Trophy.

nobel working as a curator is indeed a news for me. never knew that. I know nobel by his batting, who opened for BD's first few games and also for a long time, with Dhaka Mohammedan SC. Well, his coaching abilities are unheard of as well.

well, anyone remembers his 170 plus in a 90 over league match?..(91-92)
or that huge six of almost 'unhittable Misha' in that 25 overs aba-moha match of 88-89?

I think he also played for Brothers and always very consistent in Dhaka league. To me he was better than his brother Nannu as a batsman and didn’t utilize his skills properly.

that shows how much quality of bd cricketers have improved. 15 runs in 4 ODIs, compare that to the young upcoming shahriar or ashraful 100 against world's no.1 side.

I think BCB should involve Bulbul, Akram, Nannu as well for different development project. They were our great player and we have test status because of their some great performance [did you guys remember Akram Khan made 65 against Hollan in the ICC trophy]

Cannot agree with this. To me Nannu is by far the best batsman in pre-test era.

Nobel has done some professional coaching courses until level-3 I guess. As fas as I know, current A team coach, Shaun Williams was his teacher on those courses, so they know each other evry well.
He has been working as a coach since he retired from cricket.
