Indian Pace Bowling Attack
with the emergence of ishant sharma, India has a very enviable pace bowling attack. already they are the number 2 ranked Test side, and arguably the best outfit around.
Zaheer - solid bowler, the only experienced pacer they have but should be around for a while to come
RP Singh - pacy left hander...has a very good Test strike rate of 48ish..wretched econ
Sreesanth - idiotic but still a quality player. Test SR in the low 50s. fun to watch
Ishant - impressive youngster can bowl in the low 140s
Pathan - completes the youth quartet...re-emerged after i thought his career was done
suddenly their attack seems very good and balanced. must be the MRF reaping the fruits. 3 bowlers capable of touching and even exceeding the 90 mph mark, 3 lefties. very good attack this. possibly the subcontinent's best.

In the perth Test, both Ishant and RP were bowling in constant 140+ zone while Irfan was in Mid 130 zone.
Heartening to watch.

The new pace attack has made India into a formidable side no doubt. I was pretty shocked when I saw them ripping into the Australian top order. India always had a top notch batting line-up, but it was their poor pace attack that let them down. Looking bright for them now.

i am wondering about nehra, what happened to him? he looked quite good and the quickest among india's bowlers.
ishant seems to be a good prospect, but i think he has to add more weapons to his armory. i loved the way he bowled to ponting in the perth test 2nd innings, infact ponting was gone twice lbw before he was acutally gone, all to ishant.

Thats why I don't like W Akram anymore. Doesn't help his own bowlers. Instead Shala Become Indian Dalal.

The combination of Pathan and Ishant Sharma makes it one of top bowling spearheads India had since the days of Sreenath & Prasad rattled Pakistan's top order.

Ishant is certainly a bright prospect for India, given he can maintain this form.
He has bowled with lot of heart and did not let the mighty Aussie batting line up rattle his young nerves.
With the demise of Tendulkar,Ganguli,Dravid,Laxman,Kumble becoming inevitable in the near future, india badly needed to stregthen their weakest link, pace bowling.
While the batting order will face naivity, their bowling could save the day for when it needs to.

If you havent heard this: Akram offered his services to PCB which PCB declined and none of the Pakistani bowlers ever walk upto Akram for help. Pathan does and he gets help. This is what Akram himself said on Star Sports once.

I don't know what makes you say this? If he doesn't help his own bowlers, it is the bowlers' problem to come ask for help. AFAIK, most bowlers walk up to WA themselves and ask for tips.

If thats true, then mash definitely needs to go to him and beg to teach him how to reverse swing.

One thing is to ask, and another thing is to TRY.
I can only see Mash being able to properly do what WA says only if he TRIES to do it...like he used to at one point of his career. I'm afraid, that doesn't hold true anymore.

some bowlers had accidentally discovered the art of reverse swing and some were taught. others fine tuned it to the lethal form it is now. if this mashraf could master it, surely there would be great things to come.

Pakistans pace attack is not as not as strong as it used to be, they can surely use Akrams help. I think Aqib Javed is helping them. As far as Akram is concerned, I only hear him giving tips to Zaheer and Pathan !

Whatever they have now, they are injury hit. But the problem is that they are not looking at a good backup. On the other hand, India has been doing it. Our pace department has been hit bad by injuries with talents like Balaji and Nehra sitting out. But BCCI didnt sit on them. They went out and found out Sharma, RP and Sree.

it seems as though over the last 3 years, bangladesh's pace attack has been healthiest. thank god, cuz we have no real depth. hopefully sajid and some other guy changes that.
i really think sajid can be at least a solid 4th pacer. he's got decent pace (i.e he's fast-medium) swings it. just needs accuracy, he's just a youngster. if we find one more decent pacer, we'll be set. you need 5 pacers of high calibre to operate.
