Hey, Anwar Hossain is such a BAD KEEPER!
Trescothick hits form
Tour match, Dhaka, day one. BCB President's XI v England
Match scorecard
Bangladesh kids play cricket wherever they can find space
Marcus Trescothick and Michael Vaughan made a solid start to England's tour of Bangladesh on Sunday.
England ended several days of frustration caused by the heavy rain to finally begin their opening warm-up match five hours late and were 106-1 approaching stumps.
The tourists were desperate to play having had virtually all their preparations restricted to an indoor school by torrential rain.
But they suffered a further delay to the first of two three-day warm-up matches prior to the opening Test on October 21.
Even when they did start conditions were hardly ideal for international cricket.
But England captain Vaughan wasted no time in taking advantage of their first outdoor practice since their arrival.
He hit an impressive 36 before falling an hour before the close of the opening day against the BCB President's line-up.
Vaughan was particularly destructive early in his innings and quickly exploited the wayward line and length offered by new ball bowlers Anwar Monir and Gazi Alamgir.
He would have liked to have spent longer at the crease but after being dropped on 25 when he edged seamer Mushfiqur Rahman behind to wicketkeeper Anwar Hossain, who was diving in front of first slip, he could have few complaints when he did fall nine overs later.
Attempting a late cut, Vaughan failed to control the shot and edged Monir behind and this time wicketkeeper Hossain held the catch.
Vaughan had spent 110 minutes at the crease, hitting six boundaries.
Opening partner Marcus Trescothick was more cautious early on and took six overs before claiming his first boundary of the tour when he pulled Alamgir to the midwicket boundary.
He greeted the introduction of left-arm spinner Enamul Haque jnr by marching down the pitch and hitting him over long on for six.
He also enjoyed a reprieve two balls later when he was dropped by Mushfiqur at slip and finished unbeaten on 49 at the close.
Enamul was also unlucky to miss new batsman Mark Butcher, who had made only five when he came down the pitch.
The Surrey man should have been stumped by some distance.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bangladesh President's team (11 bat, 11 field): Hannan Sarkar (capt), Anwar Hossain (wkt), Nafis Iqbal, Aftab Ahmed, Moniruzzaman, Mushfiqur Rahman, Nadif Chowdhury, Mushfiqur Rahman, Enamul Haque Jnr, Anwar Hossain Monir, Gazi Alamgir, Abul Bashar.
England XII (11 bat, 11 field): Michael Vaughan (capt.), Marcus Trescothick, Mark Butcher, Nasser Hussain, Graham Thorpe, Rikki Clarke, Chris Read (wkt), Gareth Batty, Ashley Giles, Matthew Hoggard, Martin Saggers, Steve Harmison.

So good old BBC coverage eh. 106/1 37overs. Pitch slow? Mushfiq figures don't look that bad.

Anwar hussain monir.....Anwar hussain?
M E Trescothick not out 49 100 5 1
M P Vaughan c Anwar Hossain b Anwar Hossain Monir 36 75 6 0
M A Butcher not out 11 43 0 0
Extras 1b 1lb 2w 6nb 10
Total 37.0 overs (for 1 wicket) 106
Why can,t they sometimes put in their nicknames, no harm in it and it's easier to distinguish.

I think that it was hardly a good batting surface that we are usually used to, in Dhaka anyway.
In addition, the outfiled should also be slow - for all the rain in the outfield.
There is nobody named 'Moni Junior' - Enamul Haque Junior has a different nick-name than Enamul Haque Senior.
I think among the seamers, Anwar Hossain Munir and Mushfiqur Rahman's bowling quality is the same. At least it will not be different in the sub-continent.

2 spinners!!
Using 2 spinners ...hmm...not sure about that why don't we train Rajin and Kapali to take the second spin attack....I know it's more pressure on them but if we use another extra spinner we will loose a seamer!!! But what you guys think using two or three seamers in this type of batting friendly pitch?

Using spin or seam doesn't matter as long as the bowling is ACCURATE, which is hardly seen sometimes especially in Bangladesh's case.

why are our players don't get opportunity to play in English county or even in India or Pakistan division league? Can't we have a join association to improve our cricket structure with our neighboring countries or even in English or Australian leagues?

We can only expect to have our players play in England and Australia. Indian and Pakistan domestic cricket do not employ any foreigners. However, we did have talks with our neighbors on sending our A team or the national team to participate in their domestic cricket. So, its just a matter of time.
Now, we have been cryig for it for the last 6/7 years but BCB is only being serious now after the teams world cup debacle. We should have had this kind of participation 5-10 years ago. But, it's never too late.

about playing in county
I knew that Aminul Islam played once in county not sure if any body else recently played...I think Hannan, Bashar, Rajin, Alok, Rafiq, Mashree, Babu, even others are eligible to play there atleast for couple of matches...even other youngsters...can BCB some how make a contract with county league administrators for giving them few chances to play against the English teams? How does it work though i mean making contracts with county officials??

Bulbul did not play county cricket
He played in the Yorkshire league, which is a step below county cricket.

I believe Obuya (Kenya) was given a shot at playing in county cricket after his performance in he world cup. I didn't think much of him but they seemed to think he was worth it. Hopefully, some of he guys will start performing in the higher level consistently to give BCB the option to talk to the english and australian cricket boards to arrange something out for them. Let's see if we can continue our good form against the Brits.

O yes that Day is not far when Bashar will be regular among the Best World XI. What happened to that Charity match in which Bashar was suppose to play?
