Its 2016 guys, T20 was introduced 10 years ago and we are still behind. T20 is not going anywhere. Just because we finally started performing consistently in ODIs doesn't mean that's all we can hope for. How about transforming all success from one format to another to show that we are not a one trick pony.
Anyone know if Willow TV will show Asia cup? I just checked their website, I didn't see anything listed.

No on willow, it'd be on yupp TV.

Good post.
Agree with you. Well said.
Some people need to understand T20 is the future, this gives us an opportunity to play more T20I matches. I'm glad too, its T20 format this time for Asia cup.

Willow might show it in USA, don't know if they are going to stream in Canada though!

I will give you few reasons:
1. In 2015 we got good at something. Seriously good at least at home. This thing is ODI cricket. And yet we have not played odis for months now and to an extent i am wondering how much of the momentum with our team is still there. 2016 Asia Cup would have been perfect timing to get our groove back.
2. We got seriously close in 2012 to winning an ICC trophy .With this strong lineup we could have made a serious crack at it this year had the format been 50 overs.
3. Playing 100 T20 matches wont solve anything unless we play high scoring games and learn to play big shots. That is why BPL was useless and Asia Cup will be too because we will play more low scoring games on difficult wickets and there aren't any new big hitters in the side. When Ryad and Kayes continue to play, u know we r short of t20 talent.

But the thing is it's not upto Bangladesh to decide which format it wants to play coz it's not Bangladesh's tournament, it's Asia Cup, also since wt20 is near, it gives Asian teams ample time to prepare themselves.

This is an in house complaint in our forum about how the traditional format would have been ideal for us. We are not protesting in front of icc office building or in ICF

Yupp TV has exclusive rights to show Asia Cup 2016 in USA and in Canada. The price would be 9.99 US $ for USA viewers.

On #3, man BCB should get better pitches, such as one in Sylhet and Fatullah. Hathuri already said he wants pitch like Sylhet in Mirpur but I doubt BCB will listen to that.
There's not much of reason for not being successful in T20I if you're successful in ODIs, except for the pitch factor. T20I is a shorter duration match and has less pitch-impact.

I actually agree a bit with Jadukor because had we played ODI in Asia Cup we would have better chance of winning the frikkin cup AND... yes AND that energy would have transferred to T20 tournament.

Which team do we reckon will go through from the qualifiers?
It might actually not be Afghanistan!

Welcome nightman to BC. There was a problem in the server and lots of threads got deleted (lost).
You can introduce yourself at Forget forum. There should be thread there in the first page.

TE bhai not much to say about our 11 because 90% players pick themselves in our team at the moment. The only difference in my team would be another fast bowler in place of Sunny. The question mark has to be Kayes no other choice. In T20, this series should be his last chance to make a mark.

T20 teams that are far stronger than us:
1. India
2. Australia
3. New Zealand
4. South Africa
5. West Indies
I would say very unlikely we make semis. We can beat Pak, Sri Zim and Eng i think on Indian pitches.
