Default Rafique out for a month

Rafique out for a month
Sports Reporter

Ace spinner Mohammad Rafique will be out of action for at least one month after he aggravated a hamstring injury during the last day of the four-day National Cricket League between Dhaka and Sylhet at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Friday.

The veteran left-armer, who sustained the injury during the home series against Zimbabwe last month, missed the one-day match for Dhaka against Sylhet yesterday.

Dhaka captain Khaled Mahmud informed that doctor advised Rafique to take one month rest.

Default Why put all the blame on the BCB?

Rafique should have been sensible enough, given that he is one of the most experienced cricketers in Bangladesh, to have missed out a couple of rounds in order to get fully fit!

Its not Rafique's fault. He wanted to rest but BCB wouldn't let him..Check out another thread titled "Rafique forced to play NL despite injury."

Default Sorry, I hadn\'t seen that

But I have doubts about that report. It might be true, but just seems unlikely to me. Something like that would have been pounced on by more newspapers if it were too, especially now that the worst has happened!! I don't know, I hope that report isn't true, that would be an absolutely crazy decision by the BCB!

The ittefaq report is most likley made up. Nevertheless, there are some thorny questions that need answering...did a physio clear him to play? Was he fully healed before playing.
It would probably be best, if Rafique sits out the entire NL, and just recuperate. He'll have a few practice games to warm up right before the Eng tour.

Yeah, you may be right about more newspapers hounding BCB about this. But the thing is that one day Ittefaq reports this and the very next day Rafique's injured. God only knows what went on. Bottom line, this is bad news.
