Man, I must have passed this guy atleast 15 times at Fenner's. If only I knew he was Taif, I would have shaken him by the hand, especially if I knew that he was going to be a celebrity in two days time!

what?? are you saying you didn't shake his hand knowing he was a BANGLADESHI... what's wrong with you?

Just curious.. did you pass him 15x on your way to the men's room? Then I understand

TAIF ... congrats.

I was quiet surprised to see our picture on DS but now we have our own star.

You guys (you and Sumon) kind of look like brothers too.

Dude, there were way too many Bangladeshis there to shake everyones' hand. This is England, every other guy is a Sylheti, its not as exciting seeing a Bangladeshi here as it might be in Timbaktu.

Tim·buk·tu ( P ) (tmbk-t, tm-bkt) or Tom·bouc·tou (tbk-t)

A city of central Mali near the Niger River northeast of Bamako. Founded in the 11th century by the Tuareg, it became a major trading center (primarily for gold and salt) by the 14th century. Timbuktu was sacked in 1593 by invaders from Morocco and fell to the French in 1894. Population: 31,925.

BanglaCricket.com being discussed, not only nationally, but also globally, from Taif at Fenner's to Timbuktu in Mali...

Am not sure thats a great idea...I think a lot of players would be pretty disappointed with the way we discuss our players...worshiping them one day and then talk about discarding them like they are spent race horses. Certainly if I were an active national-level sportsman I would stay far far away from any forums. But we could definitely try and persuade some of our cricket admins to show up once in a while because we do discuss some relevant and topical issues and some of the advice and suggestions meted out by our fans are very good.

Yes, what would be nice is if the think tank visited regularly. Even some visits from top BCB officials would help Bangladesh Cricket significantly.

pompous, there are those bad sides as you mentioned about players visiting here. but there are some good sides as well. it might help a player getting back on ground who is flying in the sky or find out his faults because its easy to find a fault for thousand eyes than a few. and sometimes get the cure for them.

I don't think its such a great idea for players to browse message boards. Once in a while might be okay I guess. The thing is, although a lot of us think that we are cricket gurus, we talk a whole lot of crap a lot of the time. If I were a national team cricketer, I'd be going nuts trying to sift through the crap to find one or two posts once in a while that might be helpful. For example, the fact that Bashar hooks too much and he needs to give up this impulsive habbit he knows better than most us trust me. I don't think he needs to come here to figure that out.

In any case, if players or officials visit this site, that would be great. But they must come on their own accord. I don't believe in convincing people to do something like visiting a site or a message board. I told Bashar about us, if he is interested I'm sure he'll try us out at some point. If not he won't. I don't believe in pleading with him to come or post messages.

But one thing hurt me, DS did not mention Taif as a BC-fan, rather just a fan present in the stadium and BC has published that photo. Look at the highlighted texts:
"KEEP SMILING! A Bangladeshi fan gets his moment with Tigers skipper Habibul Bashar (R) during the three-day tour opener against the British Universities at Fenner's in Cambridge.PHOTO: BANGLACRICKET.COM "
