খাদিজাতুল কুবরাইবয়স ১৬। কিন্তু কে বলবে, আন্তর্জাতিক ক্রিকেটে এটি তাঁর তৃতীয় ম্যাচ! আয়ারল্যান্ডকে ধসিয়ে দিয়েছেন ৬ উইকেট নিয়ে। অফ স্পিনার খাদিজাতুল কুবরাই ম্যাচসেরা। তবে বিকেএসপিতে বাংলাদেশ মহিলা ক্রিকেট দলের গুরুত্বপূর্ণ জয়ে ভূমিকা রাখতে পেরেই খুশি বগুড়ার মেয়েটি—

 ৬ উইকেট নিয়ে আয়ারল্যান্ডকে ধসিয়ে দিলেন। কেমন লাগছে?
খাদিজাতুল কুবরা: অনেক ভালো লাগছে। এটা বিরাট ব্যাপার আমার জন্য। টিমের জন্য কিছু করতে পেরেছি ভেবে দারুণ খুশি লাগছে।

 ভাবতে পেরেছিলেন এতটা ভালো করবেন?
খাদিজাতুল: হ্যাঁ, আমি ভাবছিলাম, ওরা যতই ভালো ব্যাট করুক, আমরাও ভালো বোলার। আমাদের টিমটাও খারাপ না। একটা আত্মবিশ্বাস ছিলই।

 আপনার বোলিংয়ের বিশেষত্ব কী?
খাদিজাতুল: আমি ফ্লাইটেড ডেলিভারি বেশি করি। ফ্লাইট থেকে একটু টার্ন হয়, এটাই ওরা খেলতে পারেনি। ওই টার্নের মুখে ব্যাট পেতে ক্যাচ দিয়েছে, নয় লাইন মিস করে বোল্ড হয়েছে।

 এই মহিলা বিশ্বকাপ বাছাইয়ে বাংলাদেশ দলে আপনার ডেব্যু হলো। তিন ম্যাচে পেলেন ১০ উইকেট। সামনে কী লক্ষ্য?
খাদিজাতুল: সামনে আরও ভালো করতে চাই। পাকিস্তানের বিপক্ষে ৪ উইকেট, আজ ৬ উইকেট। জাপান ম্যাচে বল করতে হয়নি। সালমা আর শুকতারা আপু ১০ উইকেট নিয়ে নিয়েছেন।

 আপনার বয়স এখনো অনেক কম। এই নতুন জীবনে ঢোকার আগের জীবনটা কেমন ছিল?
খাদিজাতুল: আগের জীবনটার চেয়ে এখন সব কেমন অন্য রকম লাগছে। মনে পড়ছে, বগুড়ায় আমাদের বাড়ির পাশে মেয়েদের ক্রিকেট প্র্যাকটিস হতো। ২০০৮ সালে আমি সেখানে যাই। ক্রিকেট খেলাটা তখনই শুরু। আমার বয়স ছিল মাত্র ১৩। আর আজ আমি ম্যাচ সেরা হলাম। জীবনে ৬ উইকেট এই প্রথম পেলাম।

 স্পিনার হলেন কীভাবে?
খাদিজাতুল: সাকিব ভাইয়ের (সাকিব আল হাসান) বোলিং দেখতাম। ভাবতাম, আমিও ওনার মতো বল করব। আমাদের টিমে সালমা আপুর বোলিংও আমার ভালো লাগত এবং লাগে। তা ছাড়া ছোটবেলায় চাচা, বাবা, ভাইয়ার সঙ্গে খেলতাম। ওটা ছিল ফান ক্রিকেট। আস্তে আস্তে স্টেডিয়ামে যাওয়া-আসা শুরু করলাম। মুসলিম স্যার (কোচ) আমাকে স্পিন বোলিং শেখালেন।

 আন্তর্জাতিক ক্রিকেট দেখেন?
খাদিজাতুল: হ্যাঁ, দেখি। বেশির ভাগ ইন্ডিয়ার খেলা দেখি। উইকেটরক্ষক হলেও ধোনিকে আমার অন্যদের চেয়ে বেশি ভালো লাগে। টেন্ডুলকারকেও ভালো লাগে, তবে আমি ধোনির বড় ফ্যান।

 আপনার জীবনে আজকের দিনটি স্মরণীয় হয়ে থাকার কথা। এর বাইরেও স্মরণীয় দিন আর আছে?
খাদিজাতুল: স্মরণীয় দিন কিছু তো আছেই। বাংলাদেশ টিমের হয়ে প্রথম খেলতে নামা, সে ম্যাচে পাকিস্তানের বিপক্ষে ৪ উইকেট...তবে আজকের দিনটাই বেশি স্মরণীয় বলব।

 পড়াশোনা করছেন কোথায়?
খাদিজাতুল: বগুড়া মহিলা কলেজে উচ্চমাধ্যমিক প্রথম বর্ষে পড়ি। আমরা দুই ভাই, দুই বোন। বাবা ডিসি অফিসে চাকরি করেন। যেহেতু ক্রিকেটে এসে শুরুটা ভালো হয়েছে, ভবিষ্যতে আরও ভালো করে ক্রিকেট খেলতে চাই। পড়াশোনাও চালিয়ে যাব।

 আপনার নাম খাদিজাতুল কুবরা। কে রেখেছেন এই নাম?
খাদিজাতুল: আমার দাদা। এটা হাদিসের নাম।

 নাম নিয়ে কেউ মজাটজা করে না?
খাদিজাতুল: অনেকেই করে। বেশি করে টিমমেটরা। কুবরা নাম শুনলে অনেকে ভাবে সাপটাপের ব্যাপার আছে। আমি ফণা তুলি নাকি? উইকেট পেলে সতীর্থরা মজা করে বলে, ‘কুবরা তুই কোপ দিলি?’ আমি বলি, ‘কোপ আরও দেব (হা হা হা)।’

Khadizatul Kubra is a islamic name. The name of the first wife of our prophet Hazrat Mohammad (Sm) was Khadizatul Kubra. It may true that the name is given by her grand father.

I learned it from Al Furqaan that "Khadija Tul Kubra" was the Greatest of all Prophets Mohammed's (PBUH) first wife's mane....our great General and symbol of women's liberation, equality and respect for women, the Khadija Tul Kubra ....here Kubra means the arabic word for "Great" , so the name reads as "Khadija the Great".

Light hearted humor cannot be a sin or insult to Allah the Almighty. To Hazrat Khadija (Ra. respect) or even His(the Almighty's) prophet (PBUH), as I know the difference between true insult and innocent light-hearted word play that doesn't disrespect the great induvidual (i.e. calling Kubra, Cobra and describing Kubra the spinner as a strike spinner and when we, Bangladesh do have a deep heritage and connection with the great creation of Allah the Almighty, the super venomous Cobra.

But because mass majority of our Bangladesh people are limited with education, understanding of what is proper or what is not, it might be wise to chose to be careful so that we do not go too far and in the process hurt some innocent believer's understanding or faith towards his respect for the holiness and what is sacred to them.


But to me, at the end of the day our deadly Spinner Khadija Tul Kobra from Bogra is a full blooded Bogra Cobra!
