Default What happened to Enam's country try-out?

Just wondering if he's done it yet and if so, since we haven't heard anything, does it mean he wasn't able to impress them?

If anyone has any info on this, it would be much appreciated.

Can't believe Worcs would consider offering one of their OS player spots to a bowler as average as Enam. I have never seen the fuss about this bloke and as each year passes, I think it less and less likely that he'll prove me wrong.

Still, good luck to him, I hope he gets it.

Yeah would be very happy if he gets it, but not keeping my hope up for obvious reasons.

It is quite obvious that they are not looking at Enam for this season. They already have Saeed Ajmal and can't use anyone else, chances are Enam will be in contention for next season.

As others have pointed out, this is a trial for next season (ie summer 2012).

As you say Ajmal and Shakib are available this year, but are presumably otherwise engaged next season...

I think he could be pretty handy in county cricket. If Mustaq Ahmed could top the county bowling averages for Sussex at the fag-end of his career and the likes of Gary Keedy (Lancs) and others are able to take wickets regularly, I think Enamul could be effective too.

Didn't Graham Thorpe say back in 2004/05 that if Enamul keeps going he will one day be one of the best spinners in the world?

He's not lived up to that yet, but there's still time. I hope he does well.

well i dunt think ajmal is much better than enam. I feel like Bangladeshi spinners will be an attraction for any domestic overseas in future. For next year, maybe they will sign enam for the 4 day matches and keep shak for the T20s...... Also they can get enam for less cash. When comparing Shaks and Enams BOWLING, Enam isnt too far behind from what i recall.... so wont be surprised.

^Ya he wasn't all that impressive there in India. If he doesn't get signed by Worcestershire then he should try his luck again in India since their FC league is pretty good.

Indian batsmen are too good against spin bowling.

The last time i saw him ball the sharpness was missing which was clearly there when he first broke into the team. And because of this sharpness Richard McIness made the prediction that this guy could become a leading spinner one day. He could give the ball a rip, used to vary line, length, point of delivery. I am sure you all remember how well he bowled against England on debut and then against the Zimbabweans.

After that he just kept going downhill. Reason? I guess the same as so many other talented players who shine when we give them a chance but slowly get burnt out before disappearing. I still hope he can improve and break into the national team again. But he has a lot to prove, and perhaps before he breaks in someone new will emerge.

The name Enamul Haque must be cursed.....The Enamul Haque Sr. (Moni) was a rubbish player and is even worse as an umpire. Enamul Haque Jr. is as good as Moni.
