historically, we are known to play terrible the next match after a great match.(Tests+ODis, you name it)
i know, day by day, the value of experience and abilities of Bangladeshi players go up and so does their probabliity of success... but it is still disheartening to see them fail after seeing a glimmer of hope for a glorious future.that is what i meant by "Bangladesh self- destructs" when we had about 55 overs and two well-set batsmen and about 127 runs to score...
aside from that, we really played to the top of our ability, and well done! Alhamdulillahi Rabbil A'lamin.
this second test, the Lankans will come with a different mindset, and so will we. different venue, different pitch, diferent day, so anything can still happen!

i wud like to see enam jr come in place of kayes/mehrab jr. we are playing with 3 openers..n playing zunaed one down is the same thing as having him open when you play for bangladesh...mushy should come up the order...and ashraful the later he comes the better 5/6 wud work for him...

Happy, happy New years to all BD passionate cricket fans. Hopefully, this will be a better year for the young boys to get better and better in Odi's and Test matches.
Can someone tell me how many test matches BD are playing later this year? I have only seen that they are playing 2 Tests against the Windies, whereas in 2008, they played at least 7 matches.

In 2008, we actually played 9 test matches (a very good year for us) and at the moment we have only 3 (one against SL and 2 against WI) scheduled test matches for the next year. Hope BCB will able to arrange few more during the year.

Let's hope that they make a better first innings score like 300 runs, and they do not endure an innings defeat at the hands of SL. also, they should deny any SL batsman a century.

Always try to digest bad feelings, bring things out only if it's good; no point of making everyone else feel bad just coz u r feeling bad.....dnt wary, we wont flop; itz gonna be a good match!

I just want Mehrab and Mushfiq to swap places. Every batsman scored some runs in the last test so noone should be dropped. Who knows, maybe Mehrab will get a century in this match. He's in good touch. Remember, Shahadat got 6 wickets against South Africa in Chittagong..the same batsmen are destroying Ausssies right now. Mehrab should be used more. 10 wickets in 4 Ranji matches do not really convince me about Enam. mehrab would prob get more than 10 in 4 test matches. Most importantly, u should never change a winning team. ( I just keep thinking we won.)

i agree with everyone about the squad changes and the swapping of places between jr and Rahim and sending ashraful down.
i only disagree with one thing: Mahbubul Alam had a good time with the ball in the first innings and the second. it is just that he was outclassed by Sangakarra and Jayawardene. so i would keep him and possible switch shahadat with Enamul jr..(why?) even though Mehrab jr. is a part-time spinner, he is not a mainstay bowler like Shakib. i think Shakib needs all the support he can get!
Shahadat felt proud about getting rid of Sri Lankan batsmen in the first innings with his short pitch delivery. he felt soo proud that he thought he should bowl in that fashion consistently and he paid the price dearly. i am not sure to keep him for the second test, as he is a very unpredictable bowler, wish him all the best if he plays in the second test, but i wouldn't mind seeing Enamul jr. switching with him either...

those brining up the point abt enam jr. not getting much wickets in the Ranji Trophy...if u followed the Enam Jr. in Ranji Trophy thread u wud have known that..he was given the job of containing the batsman...he kept things real tight in one end...which is why his economy rate was less than 2..so having him in the team would be a big help for sakib..because right now we have sakib keeping things tight on one side..but the other bowler is giving away run on the other side....so it will put less pressure on sakib..

Interesting point about Enam's role in Raji, bangladesh_sy. Guess you could take him...at the expense of either Mehrab or Imrul. If either of those two is dropped, it should be Jr, since he played silly shot to get out in at least one innings. Having said that, he did score a few runs and held one end. Plus our tail is already quite long and hopeless. Our last 3 wickets added 20 runs combined in the last 2 innings!!..enam prob is worse than them. .Adding him means expecting 20 runs from the last 4 wickets. Plus Mehrab took 2 wickets last innings.

This should be our batting order and XI:
1.Imrul
2.Tamim
3.Rakib
4.Junaid
5.Ash
6.Shakib (3rd bowler)
7.Mushfiq (WK)
8.Mash (Opening Bowler)
9.Enamul (5th bowler)
10.Shahadat (4th bowler)
11.Mahbubul (2nd bowler)
12th man:Mehrab
