are you serious? i'm not defending them because i am a die hard fan, im defending them because (apparently ''ignorant'' is bad language in this forum according to the mod that edited ''ignorant'' out of my previous post) people in this forum are making ridiculous statements about the nz team. Ofcourse i'm not happy about the NZ team, but its not in as bad shape as people are saying considering there was 8 injuries in the tour. But anyway my point is, am i not allowed to defend a cricket team because other forum members are making unreasonable statements about them?

gayle is selected in the test squad and narine is the only specialist spinner in the squad. they dropped darren bravo which to me is just silly, and dwayne bravo could easily have taken a spot ahead of barath, fudadin, and powell. sarwan would have been an asset imo but he's not there.

Darren Bravo has not recovered from this injury but Dwayne Bravo should have been picked. Bishoo should have been in the squad

This NZ team is the worst of all NZ team I have seen since the early 90s. Still remember the awesome team of Martin Crowe, Mark Gretbatch, Deepak Patel etc of the 92 WC. The team consisting of Cairnes, Nash, Danny were no push overs either. Things seemed to have gone downhill since the retirement of Flemming and Bond. Sad to see them slide in this manner.

i'm keen on seeing narine more in tests to see how genuine of a prospect he truly is, and yes bishoo could have been in the discussions but don't forget shillingford, he didn't do anything wrong really and he's not even in the squad.

yep, true. they're nowhere near as good as they were back then imo. but with wagner now eligible for selection, mark gillespie on the comeback, martin still ok (but not what he was it has to be said), bracewell so far a good find, ross taylor, mccullum, kane williamson on the rise, brownlie possibly a good find, van wyk and watling, vettori obviously they have the makings for a solid team. even guys like rob nicol and redmond have decent talent, flynn isn't to bad either. they just have to pull it together, workout the best team dynamic and where all the cogs fit to make the machine run at full capacity.

if someone can support williamson NZ can make a decent score here, WI bowling is down to roach and narine.

This is why WI needs Gayle. The guy is just pure class. Look at how comfortable Powell has looked. It really does help that 1 of the greats is on the other side guiding you.

I can't believe they kept this guy out of international cricket for this long. Until recently when some of the talent players got added to the WI squad, for some time he was the West Indies team. I hope he goes on beast mode and score a double hundred.

Did you just lay the blame for the entire fiasco at the feet of the Board? That's quite a blinkered view isn't it...

Day3 Lunch: West Indies - 245/0 in 72.0 overs (CH Gayle 146, KOA Powell 96)
NZ crossing diffcult time. Gayle, Narine allready too much and here even Powell gains forms to score a ton from nowhere. Totally useless bowling, even Ireland can bowl better than this!

Congrats to Gayle for such a great 150. 1 of my favorite players. Also really impressed with Powell. He's a tall well built young man and his drives are a treat to watch. Also really like his temperament as well. I rate him higher than Barath and Brathwaite at this stage.

Korish Ghayel,what a lezend,
missed it,checked cricinfo today morning, saw he was on 85,thought that was stumps for the day but now realized it was stumps for yesterday. -______-
gotta look for H/L.

Both WI and NZ are close rivals ranking wise I guess ,but WI definitely got better players.

gayle is quality, one of the best batsmen WI has produced and one of the best shorter format batsmen of all time.
