whats eating Mohammed Ashraful??

I expected Mohammed Ashraful to be one batsman who would easily acclimatize himself to the English conditions. But he has not only looked completely out of touch and incapable of scoring any runs but more worryingly his technique also looked very suspicious. I think it is not a matter of technique but more a matter of temperament with Ashraful. What do you think is going wrong with Ash and how do you think he can come out of this slump?

Its more mental than anything else.

A well deserved break sometimes works like a charm.

However BCB should have a gameplan and resource available for him so that he can gain back his form. BCB abd Ash should work together hand in hand in the background.

I think Ash is creating too much pressure on himself (saying things like "I will even hook Harmison", dreaming of a century in Lord's) that he is not capable of handling. I hope Sujon will give him some good advise to end his misery.

Ashraful is like Flintoff in his early years as an international cricketer. It took Flintoff years on end to realise you can't hit everything for a boundary. There was the odd shot of brilliance from Flintoff early on but it is only really until the 102* he made against the Windies last year that he realised he could make runs in an unflambouyant manner.

Ash will get there...

from the second ash made it to the Bd team i always believed that if you judged someone by ability alone, ash was and still is miles ahead of all his other Bd counterparts. I will also say that he is as good as any batsmen his age in international cricket. But saying all that he now has played international cricket for a good 4-5 years but his ODI and Test record is dismal and his claim to fame are two brilliant innings and he has always flattered to deceive.There is nothing as frustrating as seeing talent go to waste and i believe only ashraful has the answer to what he needs to do to attain the heights that we all know and believe he is capable of reaching.

but yes, all ash needs is to realize he doesn't have please the fans all the time. he's playing for his team, not for us. and of course he also lacks temparament. but thats only because he's 20. its okay, he'll come around. but a break from time to time wont hurt.

No doubt he has got the talent.
His techniques is one of the best in the world.
All he has to do is use his head.
When he gets some runs he gets carried away with that. So the next matches are flop.
If Javed Omar with weak techniques can score runs why not Ash.
Ash should make a plan before the play not vice versa.
I am hopeful he would make an impact in the forthcoming
one day series.
Damn it get some runs...if you donot know what to do get some advise from the leading batsmens of the world. There are many little masters who could help you.

Ash looked and played nervously in both test matches. He needs to relax and not put too much pressure on himself as he most definetly has the talent and all the shots and he knows that..

What is the definition of Kid? According to his official age he is 20+ (will be 21 in this september) and past his teen age.

Absolutely....... The fans also responsible for it. People started comparing him with Tendulkar and that put him in la la land. He will get his form back when he gets back to reality.

In the mean-time he needs to take a break; may be go to school or focus on something else for a year.

That is a great great joke.
But I think he will do well in the one dayers.
If not I strongly suggest him to visit to a sports-psychitist to sort out his mental problems.
Cause he has no problem with his batting techniques but problem with mental maneuvering

The Bangladesh think-tank on Monday gave Ashraful a break from net practice and tagged him with experienced wicketkeeper Khaled Mashud to enjoy a session of what appeared to be a mind game. Mashud is considered as the toughest Bangladeshi batsmen and has the ability to get going when the going gets tough.

Ashraful is the most immature player on BD team. He should be dropped from ODI and Test team for year, let him play at home for clubs and at the 1st class tourney. He will mature in a year and can be called back.
