Default Probable Ireland tour in August

http://www.thedailystar.net/beta2/ne...ed-for-august/

Sorry I couldnt put the article up here. I couldn't figure it out on the ipad so just put the link.

Happy to see that we might tour Ireland. I was asking for this as Ireland is a very good team and would give our boys a great challenge. Hope this tour goes through.

No excuse for turning them down. If BCB effs this up, they're not much better than the BCCI.

Playing with the associates is always a risky job. Experience of our last europe tour was bad.

I say enough of these costly European tours playing minnows. Dont wanna disrespect the Irish here, but they better play with Afgans & Netherland more leaving BD alone till ACSU fully finishes it's combing operation; especially after we banglawash them not so long ago in our WT20 prep tour, it will taste bitter with meaningless sweetness with another whitewash. Rather fix few more match with Pakistan would be more interesting. Or stick with schedule, lets play DPL and help fix our cricketers highly deserved incomes.

Irish are a decent team and people are starting to say that they are better than us and this is the best oppurtunity for us to prove them wrong, if we succeed that is

and highly deserved incomes? For players that lose to zimbabwe series after seris?

Yet we lost to the Netherlands and Scotland. And then the Europe tour before, we lost to Ireland and Netherlands. We shouldn't just look at them as minnows. These are good teams who have consistently given us a run for our money and it's a perfect way to fill our schedule up.

Yes, because PCB and other top teams are just lining up to play with us. The Irish are a real contender for Test status and its high time the ICC and top teams accept that. BCB needs to stop being a sissy and think "oh, they're going to leapfrog us in the rankings". Start playing better cricket and leave the belly aching for others. And you can start playing better cricket by actually playing cricket instead of being interrogated by the ACSU and not paying the BPL players ever.

They should have arranged a 4-day first class match in this series as well, like Australia A are playing.

Ya that'd be great. I think BCB tried that last time with Ireland but they couldn't cover the financial costs of a longer version match.

That would be grand. I really want to see where Ireland stands in terms of their FC performance. Some good contests have happened between AFG and IRE - but I want to see how our National team (Not A - even though it may be officially called A team because of 4 day-FC match) stack up against a full blown IRE team.

Let's give the world something to talk about.

5 first class matches which would include top notch county teams alongside with Ireland would really help our cause. BCB, you listening?

Already lost to Zimbabwe and now it's time to lose to Ireland as well. Great...

I'd rather tour PNG tbh so we can win a couple of games.

Yes, that would be great! Both Pakistanis and Bangladeshis are good at fixing matches.

Best option here is sending a strong promising A team. Not for ODI rather for 2/3 fc matches.

Europe tour would have been good IF we had a tourney coming up in England or Wales.

Not a proper time for this tour. These type of tours are supposed to be held right before similar tours of greater weight.

Also, playing away from home is more challenging. our boys need to get more experience by playing overseas. In home conditions we can roll over Ireland easily, in Ireland, however, the story will be different.

Remember the 2011 WC match? We almost lost to them. I think in any given condition we'd be run close by them.

That is because Ireland are a good team on their day just like us. They have some quality players in the team and if performance : talent is taken into consideration, Ireland have a better ratio.

Ireland recently gave Pakistan a huge scare. They will be tough competition for us under their own conditions. Looking forward to this series
